We have had a trial of instant approval of posts on the forum and we would like to have your input, should we revert back to pre-approval of posts or should we continue with instant approval.

Please let us know by selecting your answer above.

Regards,

Sirs :

You have launched a poll but then you have already imposed pre-approval. What was the point of the poll ?

Going back to the past is not the solution. Making improvements is. The report button was working and would have continued to work.

Well done... you have let the a few forum-wreckers get their way !

I do not think I shall bother any more.

The current issues occurring on this forum is the effect of a certain few who has decided to go off track from what this forum is, or should be, about.

Cheers,

Guys you need to make the forum as accessible as possible. So whatever you do, don't revert to pre-approval. I think you should be asking yourselves why are there less contributors now than before. Something has changed and I don't know what. Perhaps it's become too stuffy and lacking fun.
I know some of our elder statesmen prefer the forum to be strictly for business. But where's the fun in that.

No moderation!
After viewing the members listing ratio of posts and "rating" there's simply not much going on. To a small degree the "old gang" were lost in the recon...they simply didn't want to learn something new. If someone really wants to learn something this has never been the place! This has been a fun place where you could give\get sound advice. I answered the scrambled egg question and that turned into a scrambled attacks! Hell I could spit out venom! The Pope, Crunchy etc can do that too! Now I have a blast in my own way as Lady Estuary on One on One. If I can help someone with real advise I feel good! But to get into an anonymous fish head curry pot with disjointed walking malevolent tumors just ain't my thing!
I would like spell check and better phone services...!
...I. think most newbies are looking to make a move and want everything given to them, SOPs etc...it's the same in all industries. I'll try posting a thought regarding "worth" and "transition" regarding personal and professional life next week "after fleet-week!" That topic is a very real aspect of I imagine MOST members on hotelier. Also I use FaceBook and chat with folks overseas but not much. And I go to my linkedin account evryday where I have made some "way cool" contacts. It's funny when I posted my retirement question only 2-3 served up a thought.

Also,
Not that I am comparing myself to CH or GJG or others but I suspect they, like me, have nothing to hide or lose by being up front about identity, OR what we say! It was fun being AinV with an IP, now I'm just AinV...which works for me. I think m a n y members are not willing to compromise their safety aka job! I am in between professions, CH said he's goin' back to a fab farmhouse...which really sounds wonderful! We all live our lives as best we can, helping others along the way.
I hope the knowledgable folks of all ages who have and know the sense of history esp regarding "The Hospitality" business, pass on the information, the history and culture to younger or transplanted career changers with true zest, passion and commitment! Serving ourselves our peers and guests with respect wisdom and the highest quality will provide and secure our community...show me an egg, I can build a restaurant in a Hotel within an eco not ego system!

...and finally (I think!), in order for this site to truely shine it has to be as good as the best social and professional web sites. Is there funding? At that point language is key. MANY members simply don't speak English...hence they don't post!
Is there funding as a for profit or non profit site?
What's the consensus of the "Gang of 40?"
