Our education is very practically oriented. Our students can prove in practice what they learned before in theory.

The conditions of admission are:

– Age between 20 & 35 years
– Fluent in German language (spoken and written)
– Finished basic education in restaurant or hotel business

or

– Finished basic education in an other business or high school and a 10 month practical training in a restaurant/hotel

The education lasts totally 2 years and is divided in:

6 weeks basic-course
To get the skills of service and kitchen, and an overview in hotel management.

Moreover it is a preparation for the following practical internship and to get to know the other 140 students. This course is held in Weggis (Canton of Lucerne) with the same teachers as in Zurich. The students have board and lodging, which is organized from the school and included in the fare.

40 weeks internship in one of our partner restaurant or hotel
To get deeper knowledge of procedures in restaurant and hotel business.

It is an additionally reference for continuing business life.
To get more experience in restaurant and hotel business.
The internship is made in one establishment but in different departments, depending in what the students did before. The internship is individually planned with our tutor for every student. The tutor visits every student twice in the establishment, to stay in contact during this long period. The students get paid during the internship.

(Calculate, financial controlling, salary statements, business plans)

·Culture
(general knowledge about art, politics and economy)

·Front Office
(Guest relations, housekeeping)

·Marketing
(create mailings, sales training)

·Sourcing
(Know the products and the suppliers, learn how to organize the purchase)

·Health-Management
(Microbiology, hygiene, dietetics)

·Practical trainings in our sophisticated public restaurant
