TRAVDEXTM, the first one-stop shopping trade show for travel technology products, solutions and professional services targeting the global travel, tourism and hospitality industry, will debut in Atlanta in September, 2009, its organizers announced today.
TRAVDEXTM will be produced in partnership by PhoCusWright Inc., the travel industry research authority on how travelers, suppliers and intermediaries connect, and Messe Berlin GmbH, producer of ITB Berlin, the world's largest travel trade show. The event will feature buyer-seller appointments, exhibition space, sponsored events and business networking opportunities for companies who sell technology products, solutions and professional services to the global travel industry. The inaugural TRAVDEXTM is scheduled for September 9-11, 2009 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
"This is the perfect time and ITB is the ideal partner for TRAVDEXTM," said Philip C. Wolf, president and CEO of PhoCusWright. "Travel is the world's largest industry, highly fragmented and intensely competitive. And success is critically dependent on making the right choices about technology-based innovation and technical platforms."
PhoCusWright tracks technology and its impact on the many business segments of the travel industry. Messe Berlin has a proven track record in staging world-class trade shows at its exhibitions complex in Germany, and successfully launched ITB Asia in Singapore in October, 2008. Together, they produce PhoCusWright@ITB, an annual technology and innovation conference within ITB Berlin.
"ITB and Messe Berlin have built a strong partnership with PhoCusWright@ITB," said Raimund Hosch, CEO of Messe Berlin. "We are excited to be joining forces again on TRAVDEXTM. In response to the dynamic pace of technology development in the global travel industry, we will bring buyers and sellers together to solve specific business challenges."
TRAVDEXTM production and management services will be provided by Michael J. Pierson Associates, Inc.
