International Women's Day (March 8) honours female achievement around the world and is celebrated in countries from Afghanistan to Australia. This year, luxury hotels will commemorate the day with special perks and celebrations for female guests and employees. Here is an overview of four hotels honouring women on this year's International Women's Day.
Dorchester Collection's45 Park Lane (London), Le Meurice (Paris) and Principie di Savoia (Milan) will celebrate International Women's Day with a "Women in Wine Road Trip." Hosted by the female sommeliers at each property, the road trip involves three successive wine events at the hotels in London (March 6), Paris (March 7) and ultimately Milan (March 8, International Women's Day). At each event, the sommeliers will compare vintage and recent wines with two wine selections from American, French and Italian wines while inspiring lively discussions on hot topics, trends and being a woman in an industry dominated by men. Price per event, including wine and canapés is €120/£100 (approximately $156 USD). Guests can also choose to embark on the wine road trip and attend all three events. Price for all three events including a one night stay at each property and a complimentary bottle of wine selected by the hotel's sommelier is €2,000/£1,600 (approximately $2,600 USD). Cost of transportation is not included. Female guests staying at the sommeliers' hotels during this time will also receive a 10% discount on select spa treatments and a complimentary glass of champagne during lunch.
On March 8th, 2013, Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa will host a reception inviting in-house female guests along with women leaders from the local community to celebrate International Women's Day. The reception will be held in Sorrel River Ranch's Main Lodge with sweeping views of the Colorado River. Selections of regional wines and local beers will be served, including Sorrel River Ranch's own Nano Brewery Beers. Signature garden-inspired tapas from Chef Richard Potts will also be served at the event, along with a selection of local Utah Cheeses and Honey. General Manager Linda Cerra will offer a welcome toast honoring the accomplishments and continued success of all women as well as those that have been touched by their influence and support. In addition to the reception, Sorrel River Ranch will be offering a 25% discount to all women who book spa treatments for women on March 8th.

Hyatt Regency Atlanta is celebrating International Women's Day by celebrating female guests and employees. Female guests checking in on March 8 will receive a special gift upon arrival along with information on fighting domestic violence and supporting youth education in women and girls. At the same time, Hyatt Regency Atlanta will honor the hard work and contributions of their 300 female employees with corsages and a special "thank you" reception and information session highlighting Atlanta-area charities that support women and families.
