Aiden McAuley new Senior VP Operations, Europe at FRHI
FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI), the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Raffles Hotels & Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, has appointed Aiden McAuley as Senior Vice President Operations, Europe. In this new role, he has relocated from Singapore to Zurich and is now responsible for overseeing all existing hotel operations and future developments across all three brands - Fairmont, Swissôtel & Raffles within the European Region.
During the past eight years McAuley had the position of Managing Director Swissôtel The Stamford & Fairmont, Singapore and Regional Vice President, Asia-Pacific for Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts overseeing all Swissôtel properties in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Australia and India. In this role he had the opportunity to venture into new markets and oversaw the opening of the first Swissôtel property in India, Swissôtel Kolkata. McAuley brings with him over 25 years of hospitality experience and first joined Swissôtel in 1999 as the General Manager of Swissôtel The Howard, London before moving to Singapore. Prior to joining Swissôtel, Aiden held positions at other international brands including Hilton.
Red Roof Inn promotes Marina MacDonald to Chief Marketing Officer
Red Roof Inn, a leader in the economy lodging sector, has promoted Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Marina MacDonald to Chief Marketing Officer. MacDonald has been with Red Roof for over six years and has served the hospitality industry for over twenty years.
Prior to joining Red Roof, MacDonald served as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Remington Hotels. There she led revenue increases of 11 percent for a portfolio of 45 hotels representing 13 different lodging brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, IHG and Independent properties.
Before joining Remington, MacDonald was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Wyndham International where she played a key role in the successful growth of 40 luxury, upper-upscale, limited service and extended stay hotels and resorts in the United States, Caribbean and Mexico.
MacDonald serves on the Executive Committee of Hospitality Sales & Marketing International (HSMAI) and was awarded 2012 Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing. She has an executive MBA in Business Innovation from The Aji Network in San Jose, CA and a Business Administration degree from Bradford Business in Philadelphia, PA.
John Inserra new COO at The ONE Goup
John Inserra has been appointed the Chief Operating Officer of The ONE Group, developers and operators of upscale restaurants and lounges in the US and UK. The ONE Group's primary restaurant brand is STK, which is a steakhouse concept with locations in major metropolitan cities throughout the U.S. and in London. The ONE Group's food and beverage hospitality services business also provides the development, management and operations for premier restaurants and turn-key food and beverage services at high-end boutique hotels and casinos
Inserra brings more than 25 years of food and beverage operations experience to The ONE Group. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President, Restaurant Operations, Concepts and Development for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurant Group. During his tenure at Kimpton, he oversaw 60 restaurants, bars and lounges in 24 cities across the United States, managing all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations, marketing, finance and public relations, as well as new restaurant concepts and development. He also served as Senior Vice President, Restaurant Operations from 2008 to 2012, Vice President Operations, East Coast from 2006 to 2008 and Director of Operations for 2002 to 2006 for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurant Group.
Prior to his time at Kimpton, Mr. Inserra was President, Owner and Operator of Finbar Restaurants, Inc. from 1995 to 2002. He served as Director of Restaurant Operations for the Rosenthal Group from 1994 to 1995 and prior to that served in multiple roles at The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, LLC from 1987 to 1994, including Executive, Director of Food and Beverage for Ritz Carlton Hotels in San Francisco, Mauna Lani, HI and Kapalua, HI.
Inserra also serves as a member of the board of directors for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. Mr. Inserra holds a bachelor's degree in hotel administration with a minor in accounting from Cornell University.
