Jewel Resorts of Jamaica opens third all-inclusive resort
Aimbridge Hospitality recently opened the all new Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa, an adults-only active vacation health and fitness themed all-inclusive resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.
The 225 key oceanfront property joins the flagship Jewel Dunn's River Beach Resort and Spa and the Jewel Runaway Bay Golf Resort & Spa as the third Jewel resort property in Jamaica.
Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa is the first Jewel property to introduce the expanded all-inclusive health, spa and fitness theme, and includes juice and smoothie bars throughout the property, a variety of healthy cuisine options and an extensive list of watersports and most activities included in the pricing.
A new addition to the resort is the oceanfront Radiant Spa, the Jewel branded spa concept, known for its specialty spa treatments like the in-ocean two therapist massage. Jewel Paradise Cove rates include scuba diving and resort course, sunset cruise, Dunn's River Falls tour, and a shopping tour with a trip to Margaritaville.
Hyatt Place Fredericksburg-Mary Washington celebrates official opening
Hyatt Hotels and Interstate Hotels & Resorts have announced the opening of Hyatt Place Fredericksburg-Mary Washington. The hotel, which is located on the campus of the University of Mary Washington, serves the university community, Historic Downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia and the Mary Washington Health System with its centralized location.
Located in the middle of the university's Eagle Village - a pedestrian-friendly 23-acre mixed-use development - Hyatt Place Fredericksburg-Mary Washington is within steps of more than 20 retail shops, a fitness club, a grocery store, 10 family-oriented restaurants and cafés. Miles of the city's trail system surround the hotel, providing walkers, runners, and bicyclists with access to Historic Downtown Fredericksburg and the Rappahannock River.

Mantra Group expands in Australia
Australian hoteliers, Mantra Group, are continuing with domestic expansion plans announcing properties in Brisbane and Townsville, with further additions imminent to its Australian network in 2014.
The Group's 115-strong Australian network is set to increase with the management of the recently refurbished Skyline Court apartment complex which will rebrand to BreakFree Fortitude Valley Brisbane in March 2014, offering an economy style option for both corporate and leisure travellers in the Brisbane market.
Located two kilometres from Brisbane CBD the property offers studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments within walking distance to the restaurants, cafes and bars of Fortitude Valley and The Emporium shopping precinct. Facilities include a swimming pool, barbeque and recreation area, gymnasium and secure car parking.
Surrounding developments include RNA Exhibition Grounds, Brisbane City to Brisbane Airport Railway line, the Royal Brisbane Hospital and Homemaker City Fortitude Valley with the Brisbane river approximately 1.5 kilometres to the east.
The BreakFree joins Mantra South Bank and Mantra on Queen in the Group's Brisbane network to now offer a total of 420 rooms in the city. Other CBD BreakFree hotels are located in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
In Townsville, the hotel management agreement was formally signed on the brand new 185-room hotel set to open in 2016 as part of a restaurant and leisure precinct planned for the city's CBD.
The hotel development project, to be known as Mantra Townsville, will bring a four-star corporate hotel to the city, catering to the region's demand from the mining resources sector and overall expansion.
Mantra Townsville will also have extensive conferencing facilities for up to 500 delegates, from boardroom style rooms for smaller groups through to large conference venues. The 185 hotel rooms and suites will offer contemporary style and comfort as well as a convenient location for both corporate and leisure guests. Leisure facilities will include a pool, gym and spa.
Further additions to the Mantra network include apartment hotels in Brisbane and Melbourne which are expected to be formally announced by April 2014.
The new hotels complement other recent announcements of future additions to the network which include Peppers Dunmore Brisbane set to open in 2015 and Peppers Docklands Melbourne in 2016.
Chesapeake Hospitality assumes management of three turnaround hotels
Greenbelt, Md.-based Chesapeake Hospitality has announced that it has taken over management of the InnPlace Hotel Bensalem in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, the Comfort Suites BWI in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, and the Holiday Inn Express Mt. Holly in Westampton, New Jersey, bringing its management portfolio to 27 properties.
Each of the three new properties claims to be in an advantageous location: the 76-room Holiday Inn Express Mt. Holly provides easy access to Philadelphia and all of southern New Jersey; The InnPlace Hotel Bensalem sits adjacent to the PARX Casino and Racetrack and will convert to a major brand upon completion of renovation; and the Comfort Suites BWI is suited for business travelers to Baltimore Washington International Airport and Baltimore's Inner Harbor.
The Comfort Suites BWI is currently closed as it undergoes a comprehensive property renovation. It is scheduled to re-open under the Choice brand in the second quarter of this year.
