Stephen Sieberg new GM at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur
Armed with more than 27 years of work experience in the hospitality industry, Stephan Sieberg is now at the helm of the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel as its General Manager.
Hailing from Siegen, Germany, Stephan's career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts began in 1989 when he was hired as the Assistant Chief Steward at Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel and Conference Centre in Germany. Since then he has developed his career throughout Europe including countries like Germany, Bulgaria, Albania and Poland.
During his almost 10-year tenure at the 1050-room Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel and Conference Centre, Stephan was involved in many areas of the Food & Beverage and Sales & Marketing departments, working himself through various roles and up the career ladder.
In 1999, he was transferred to Sofia Hotel Balkan, A Luxury Collection Hotel as its Executive Assistant Manager. Just after 9 months, he was promoted to General Manager and led the hotel's renovation program and conversion to a new ownership.
He then became the opening General Manager of the first 5-star hotel in Albania at the Sheraton Tirana Hotel & Towers. In 2006, Stephan took on a new role by changing brands within Starwood when he was appointed General Manager of The Westin Warsaw, Poland.
The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel is his first work stint in Asia.
Dave Pease now General Manager of the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek
The JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek is pleased to announce that Dave Pease is now serving as the General Manager.
With more than 40 years of hospitality experience, Pease most recently served as the General Manager of the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort. Prior to that, he served as an Area General Manager for Marriott International, overseeing all Denver South Marriott products. He also previously served as the General Manager of the Denver Marriott City Center, the Denver Marriott Tech Center, the Denver Marriott Southeast and the Tulsa Marriott Hotel.
A graduate of Cornell University, Pease also served in the United States Navy.
Pease is a past president and current board member of the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association, which inducted him into its "Hall of Fame" in 2003. He is also a member of the American Hotel Association and the Cornell Society of Hoteliers.
The Brando appoints Marsha Morton Director Of Sales and Marketing for the US and Canada
The Brando, a luxury resort and model of sustainable technology on French Polynesia's private island of Tetiaroa which is scheduled to open July 1, 2014, is pleased to announce the appointment of Marsha Morton as Director of Sales and Marketing for the United States and Canada.
In her new position at The Brando, Morton will be responsible for sales and promotions in the United States and Canada. She will report to Philippe Brovelli, Regional Vice President of Operations for Pacific Beachcomber, and Silvio Bion, General Manager of The Brando.
An industry veteran, Morton most recently held the position of Director of Sales & Marketing, North America for the InterContinental Resorts of French Polynesia (formerly Southern Pacific Hotels), representing the properties for the past 20 years. Pacific Beachcomber, S.C., owns the InterContinental Resorts of French Polynesia and The Brando.
Long-time Carnival executive Howard Frank named Chairman of Costa Crociere
Carnival Corporation has announced Howard Frank as the Chairman of Costa Crociere S.p.A, the largest Italian travel group and a major force in cruising throughout Europe, Asia and South America.
In this role, Frank will support Michael Thamm, CEO of Costa Crociere S.p.A.
Last November, after 25 years with Carnival Corporation which included serving as Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman since 1998, Frank stepped down to serve as special advisor to the CEO and to the Chairman of Carnival Corporation.
Frank currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the world's largest cruise industry trade organization.
John O'Sullivan new Tourism Australia MD
John O'Sullivan will be taking over the Managing Director's role at Tourism Australia following the departure of former MD, Andrew McEvoy. Mr O'Sullivan has extensive experience in major events, including as Chief Executive of Events Queensland and the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Organising Committee. He is currently Chief Operating Officer at Fox Sports.
Jackie Collens and Jackie Carter lead new Luxury Sales team for The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria New York

Both are responsible for all leisure, business and residential sales to those looking for hand-selected, high-touch and unforgettable experiences in the authentic rooms and suites that comprise The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria New York.
Collens and Carter help enhance a newly dedicated team with the titles director of leisure sales and assistant director of leisure sales, respectively. The significance of increasing team members to handle the guest relations from reservation to stay completion touts the highly personalized, high-value Towers' guest experience, whether for leisure or business accommodations and even long-term or residential stays. With a combined wealth of sales knowledge and experience at Waldorf Astoria New York, both Collens and Carter bring a strong sense of high-end sales and client management techniques to this team, which also include the new Suite Specialists who hand-select accommodations from the array of individually appointed Towers suites.
A member of the Waldorf Astoria New York since 2007, Jackie Collens holds experience in an array of hotel functions including meeting and banquet operations manager, rooms division manager, diplomatic events manager before transitioning to this position as director of leisure sales. Jackie is a graduate of The School of Hospitality Business in the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Her significant career achievements thus far include Michigan State University's Emerging Alumni of the Year (2011) and, a two-time recipient of Hilton Worldwide's Elite Circle of Excellence Award (2010 and 2011).
Jackie Carter began her hospitality career in the competitive management trainee program at Palmer House A Hilton Hotel, with its exposure to each operational department. Before her promotion to Waldorf Astoria New York in 2011, she also spent time on teams at the Hilton Chicago, Palmer House A Hilton Hotel and Conrad Chicago with a focus on corporate group sales. She joined the sales team at Waldorf Astoria New York as a sales manager. Jackie is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration.
New Director of Projects for RPW Design
RPW Design is delighted to welcome Caroline West as Director of Projects.
Caroline is an accomplished project director and chartered architect with 28 years' experience in the construction industry. During the last 15 of these she has specialised in project management of hotel developments, both new build and large scale complex refurbishment schemes.
This includes overseeing the complex and challenging £120 million refurbishment of the iconic Grosvenor House Hotel, where she rebranded and introduced Marriott brand standards. Here she was responsible for the appointment of the multi-disciplinary design team, including RPW Design, and overall direction of the project on behalf of the development company.
As project manager at Hilton International for London and the South East, Caroline worked on developments including The Langham, Hilton Gatwick Airport and The Park Lane Mews Hotel. She has also managed the roll out of restaurant and bar concepts across the UK Hilton portfolio, as well as the design and construction of her own family homes in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
Caroline joins RPW at an exciting time, as the practice has just been appointed to work on the refurbishment of London Marriott County Hall.
