HSMAI Americas unveils 2014 Executive Committee, Board of Directors
The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), has announced its 2014 Americas Region Executive Committee and Board of Directors. In total, 38 members were elected or appointed to serve HSMAI in the coming year.
This year's HSMAI Nominating Committee selected the 2014 members from nationally and internationally known entities ranging from convention & visitors bureaus, hotels, hotel management companies, research and / or marketing firms and universities to online travel agencies, search engines and social media platforms. Notably, 22 hotels and hotel management companies are represented on the board.
Rob Torres, managing director of travel at Google, begins a two-year term as HSMAI Americas Chair.

Maryjean daSilva new sales coordinator at Hilton Garden Inn Shelton
Hilton Garden Inn Shelton announced that Maryjean daSilva has been appointed as the hotel's new sales coordinator. In her new role, daSilva will be responsible for leading and directing the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.
Prior to joining Hilton Garden Inn Shelton, daSilva was the sales/office manager at the Holiday Inn Bridgeport for 11 years.
Hilton Garden Inn Shelton, located at 25 Old Stratford Road in Shelton, has been open since October 1999. It is located near many fortune 500 companies in the Shelton area including United Technologies, Pitney Bowes and General Electric.
