Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa has introduced its new General Manager, Tom Tabler. As the resort celebrates 25 years of service in 2014, Tabler is responsible for the overall leadership and running of the day-to-day operation.
Also celebrating an anniversary, Tabler joins the resort with 25 years of experience in group sales and marketing, operations and revenue management at hotels such as San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, Austin Marriott at the Capitol and most recently, JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. This is his fourth general manager assignment.
Helen Mantellato new ICC Sydney Exhibition Sales Manager
Highly experienced events industry executive, Helen Mantellato has commenced as Exhibition Sales Manager at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney.
Ms. Mantellato was previously with the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre since it opened in 1988 and was its Director of Sales (Exhibitions) for the past 10 years.
She has also received a number of professional and industry awards including a NSW Olympic Council Order of Merit in 2013, the Trevor Riddell President's Award in 2009, the Outstanding Operations Person for NSW in 1997.
ICC Sydney will be operated by AEG Ogden, a leading venue management company in the Asia Pacific region. It will feature a convention facility capable of holding four fully separated concurrent events of over 12,000 delegates and total exhibition capacity of 40,000 square metres. It is due for completion in December 2016.
Mr. Donaghy said the new venue, featuring waterfront facilities in a prime CBD location in Australia's leading city, was destined to become one of the most exciting major convention and exhibition facilities in the world.
He said the ICC Sydney pre-opening office would soon be in place and recruitment of a number of other senior appointments to the management team will commence over the next few weeks
Tamer Abu Jerise named new F&B Manager at Intercontinental Aqaba Resort
InterContinental Aqaba Resort has appointed Tamer Abu Jerise as the new Food & Beverage Manager at the resort. Abu Jerise will be in charge of all activities and operations related to food & beverage in the resort.
Tamer Abu Jerise, a Jordanian national, has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in the Food & Beverage department in several hotels in both Jordan and the UK. Abu Jerise was in charge of many tasks and responsibilities including monitoring present and future trends, practices and systems in the F&B industry, assuring the achievement of optimum food & beverage cost percentage and service per employee, auditing food & beverage services and quality on a regular basis, among many others.
Bruce Grosbety appointed Managing Director of Enchantment Resort
Enchantment Resort in Sedona, AZ, has announced the appointment of Bruce Grosbety as Managing Director. A hospitality professional with extensive experience in luxury and independent hotels and resorts, Grosbety is responsible for operations of the newly renovated Enchantment Resort, which includes Mii amo spa and Seven Canyons golf club.
Grosbety joined Enchantment Resort from MetWest Terra Hospitality, a boutique company based in Wilson, Wyoming. As Vice President of Operations for the past seven years, he led all operations and revenue management strategies for eight luxury properties including Hotel Terra, Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, and The Inn at Jackson Hole in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Hotel AbRi, Toll House Hotel, Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa, and The Lodge at Tiburon in the San Francisco Bay area; and Topnotch Resort & Spa in Stowe, Vermont. Under Grosbety's watch, total portfolio revenues and profits grew to their best year ever.
Prior to assuming his executive position at MetWest Terra Hospitality, Grosbety was General Manager at Hotel Terra, which opened in 2008 and was the sixth hotel in the country to be LEED silver certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. He was also General Manager at Snake River Lodge & Spa, a RockResorts property in Jackson Hole; Director of Rooms at The Pierre in New York City under Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts; and Director of Rooms at The Copley Plaza, a Fairmont hotel in Boston. Grosbety got his start in the front office of Hyatt Orlando in 1986.
Born in Montreal and raised in Woodstock, NY, Grosbety is a dual citizen of the U.S. and France and fluent in English and French. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Purdue University.
