Four Seasons London at Canary Wharf appoints Lynn Brutman new GM
Four Seasons Hotel London at Canary Wharf has announced the appointment of Lynn Brutman as its new General Manager with immediate effect. Ms Brutman takes over from Michael Purtill who has been appointed General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of the 142-bedroom luxury hotel which enjoys a riverside setting in Canary Wharf and boasts striking views of the river Thames and the city beyond.
With over 22 years of hospitality experience, Ms Brutman joins from Four Seasons Hotel Toronto where as Hotel Manager she played an integral role in the closure of former Toronto hotel and the opening of the company's new flagship property in Canada in 2012.
Prior to this Ms Brutman spent four years working as Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Whistler where she oversaw the operations for the 273 room resort and its 37 private residences. She has also spent time working as Director of Rooms at both Four Seasons Hotel Miami and Newport Beach and embarked on Four Seasons' career within the rooms division at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel).
A native of New York, Ms Brutman holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
Pablo Torres Named General Manager of Caribe Hilton
Hilton Worldwide has named Pablo Torres as the new General Manager of the 917-room Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he incidentally began his hospitality career as a food and beverage management trainee back in 1992. Known as the birthplace of the piña colada and the city's largest hotel, this AAA Four Diamond property is also a proud recipient of Green Key due to its environmental awareness and efforts.
Torres most recently held the position of general manager of the 304-room Hilton Short Hills located in the suburban community of Short Hills, New Jersey. Previously, he served as general manager of the 288-room British Colonial Hilton Nassau in The Bahamas.
Torres has more than 20 years of business development and operations experience in hospitality management. From middle to large-scale volume facilities, Torres has held a myriad of key positions with many internationally recognized hotel companies throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Within Hilton Worldwide, he has also gained ample experience working on projects in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Torres attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, where he received an associate's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Additionally, he attended Cornell University hospitality training programs where he received several certifications.
Saundra Goldman appointed General Manager of Hilton Granite Park - Plano
Hilton Worldwide announced the appointment of Saundra Goldman to the position of general manager of the 299-key Hilton Granite Park - Plano hotel in Plano, Texas which is scheduled to open in late summer 2014. As the general manager, Goldman will oversee the opening and operations of this new conference hotel and will report to Area Vice President Andy Slater.
Most recently, Goldman served as general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston Downtown. She first joined Hilton in 1986 as assistant director of front office operations for the 700-room Pittsburgh Hilton. Through a series of promotions with increasing responsibility, she has held positions at many notable Hilton managed properties, including Palmer House a Hilton Hotel, Flamingo Hilton, Reno Hilton, DoubleTree Guest Suites in Minneapolis, DoubleTree Club hotel, Miami, and DoubleTree New Orleans - Lakeside. Goldman holds a B.S.B.A. degree in Hotel Restaurant Management/Business from University of Denver.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts appoints Jane Burnell Vice President Sales, Americas
Four Seasons Hotels and Resort has appointed Jane Burnell to Vice President Sales, Americas.
A 14-year veteran of Four Seasons, Burnell is currently Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa where she leads Four Seasons sales activities throughout the region. During her three years in the position she has been instrumental in growing Four Seasons business in the region and played a key collaborative role in global sales initiatives and worldwide partner programs.
In April, Burnell will make the transition from Dubai to Toronto, where she will assume her new role overseeing sales efforts and client relationships across the Americas.
Since joining Four Seasons Worldwide Sales Office London in 2000, Burnell's career path has been marked by progressively senior positions that have taken her across the globe and included the management of five of Four Seasons 16 Worldwide Sales Offices.
Outrigger announces key management changes
Outrigger Enterprises Group has announced the following appointments and promotions:
Aurelio Garcia joins the Outrigger Reef on the Beach as executive chef, responsible for the resort's Kani Ka Pila Grille and banquet food preparation, production and control, ensuring high standards of quality are met. Previously, Garcia was chef at the Ocean House and executive chef at the former Sam Choy's Breakfast Lunch & Crab. Garcia is a member of the American Culinary Federation and attended The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York.
Mizuki "Mindy" Mabuchi joins Outrigger Hotels and Resorts as sales manager - Japan/Asia. Mabuchi previously served as an executive consultant for RGF Jalan USA Inc. Previously, Mabuchi was sales/marketing/media producer in the Travel Information Division of Recruit Co., Ltd. (Jalan headquarters).
Ian Milley was promoted to director of business performance and provides a centralized source for consumer insights, industry data, internal and competitive benchmarking and revenue performance. Prior to joining the Outrigger team, Milley worked for Life Settlement Solutions as financial analyst and pricing department manager and for Linsco/Private Ledger as a money desk disbursement supervisor.
Jamie Wong has assumed the position of director of revenue management for the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. Wong was previously director of revenue management for OHANA Hotels & Resorts. She holds the Certified Revenue Management Executive (CRME) designation from Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
David Reed has been promoted to director, systems and programming. Reed held several positions in hotel operations with Outrigger before information technology, initially as systems control coordinator, then as programmer analyst, senior project engineer and most recently as manager of application programming.
Vikas Sharma Appointed General Manager of Hilton Bangalore Residences
Hilton Bangalore Residences has appointed Vikas Sharma as General Manager. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2014, Hilton Bangalore Residences is located in the Embassy Golf Links Business Park, the hub of several Fortune 500 companies.
Sharma, appointed as pre-opening general manager for Hilton Bangalore Residences in December 2012, brings over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry. In his former role at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., Sharma was the general manager for Aloft, Bangalore. Prior to joining Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., he was the general manager for The Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore. Previously, Sharma held several positions in Food and Beverage operations with Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces in Mumbai and Bentota, Sri Lanka. He also served as the director, Food & Beverage, for InterContinental, New Delhi, and was part of the pre-opening team at the Radisson Hotel, New Delhi.
Sharma has the distinction of being awarded the "The Best Hotelier" in 2010 in the National Tourism Awards, and ranked among the 'Top Twelve Hoteliers in India' in 2009 in the Safari India National Awards. He was also nominated in the 'General Manager of the Year' category of the Hotelier India Awards 2009.
Coco Collection appoints Tina Dotzauer as Cluster Manager for Marketing & PR
Coco Collection, the management group that operates the Coco Resorts : Retreats properties, has announced that Tina Dotzauer has been appointed as the new Cluster Manager for Marketing & PR for the Groups' stunning resorts in the Maldives.
Tina is an insider when it comes to luxury in the Maldives - she has held several positions in the hospitality industry of this Indian Ocean country over the last seven years. Tina will liaise with the marketing teams on location, as well as with Coco Collection's PR agencies abroad to ensure maximum exposure for each property. Her main focus will be on increasing brand awareness throughout various markets, maintaining and improving each resort's website and the joint social media presence of the group, and to evaluate and implement new ways to experience the Coco Collection resorts.
Tina's appointment comes at a time of re-structuring for Coco Collection - after the departure of Ms Lisa Brightwell, the former VP of Sales & Marketing, in December 2013, and the recent departure of Mr Wai-Kei Wong, former Director of Sales & Marketing, Tina will be overtaking all Marketing inquiries previously handled by Ms Brightwell. At the same time, Ms Aishath Suhaila, Sales Manager of Coco Collection and Sunland Hotels, who has been with the company for more than 10 years, will respond to any Sales-related queries that were previously taken care of by Mr Wong.
