Yanqi Lake Kempinski Hotel Beijing to be unveiled in May 2014
European luxury hotel company Kempinski's largest property in China will be unveiled in May 2014. The development, set on 14-square-kilometre grounds in the heart of scenic Yanqi Lake, Beijing, includes a total of 595 guestrooms and suites with 306 rooms at Yanqi Lake Kempinski Hotel Beijing, located on the main land, as well as 111 rooms at the State Guest House and 178 rooms spread across 12 Boutique Hotels, on a private island.
14,069 square metres of meeting space, including a 8,277-square-metre Conference Centre, and ample out-door event space amidst landscaped natural gardens, offer meeting planners a brand-new option of a fully-integrated MICE destination in Beijing.
At the venue's culinary hub of 14 food and beverage establishments including German restaurant and bar, Paulaner Brauhaus, guests will be spoilt for choice by the many cuisines on offer, ranging from various types of Chinese to authentic European recipes, imported cheeses, cold cuts, sausages, traditional and freshly-baked breads, wine and cigars.
Leisure facilities include marina, 18-hole golf course, Kempinski The Spa, recreational and fitness facilities, and a Kid's Club.
The development is located approximately 45 kilometres north of Beijing Capital International airport, 60 kilometres north of Beijing's city centre and 25 kilometres from Mutianyu Great Wall.
The Parnas, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul to open with Gangnam style
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Parnas Hotel Cohave announced the signing agreement of The Parnas, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul. Located in the city's upscale southern district of Gangnam, the hotel's debut will mark the first Luxury Collection hotel in South Korea.
Slated to open in 2016, The Parnas, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul will feature 138 guest rooms, including 24 suites. The hotel will feature a restaurant, specialty bar and lobby lounge and will include a spa and gym. In addition to the brand's signature concierge service, the hotel will offer exceptional local experiences, serving as a portal for affluent travellers to discover the interesting, yet little explored sights of Seoul.
Starwood currently has with six distinctive hotels in Korea, including W Seoul - Walkerhill, Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel and The Westin Chosun Seoul with two hotels in the development pipeline, including Aloft Seoul Gangnam and Sheraton Daegu Hotel.
Starwood operates 38 properties under its luxury brands, including St. Regis, W and Luxury Collection, with over 30 hotels in the development pipeline. The Luxury Collection manages 20 properties in the region, with nine additional hotels and resorts in its pipeline. Two Luxury Collection hotels are scheduled to open this year in Dalian and Hangzhou.
Hyatt announces plan for the first Andaz resort in Bali
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with P.T. Wynncor Bali for an Andaz resort in Bali, Indonesia. Upon completion, the hotel will be the first Andaz-branded offering in Southeast Asia.
Slated to open in 2016, Andaz Bali will be a beachfront resort designed by international architect Tierra Design, and Japanese interior design firm Spin Design Studio. The hotel will comprise low-rise clusters and pavilions set within dramatic landscaping, and will feature 144 guestrooms and villas, small intimate meeting facilities, multiple dining options, a fitness centre, several outdoor swimming pools, and a spa.
Club Med Cancun Yucatan upgrades with families in mind
Club Med will soon finalise a multimillion dollar enhancement project at its Cancun Yucatan resort. These new developments will feature 60 stylish beachfront family rooms and the addition of a Petit Club Med children's club. The rejuvenation also includes two oceanfront restaurants, a new Argentine grill, La Estancia, and the redesign of Las Cazuelas restaurant. The resort will also introduce Maya Lounge, a new trendy bar and entertainment area.
The beachfront family accommodation will feature a private reception area and include 30 Family Club Rooms and 30 Family Deluxe Rooms. The contemporary rooms include a master bedroom, a separate children's room, 1.5 or 2 baths, and a personal terrace or balcony.
The new Petit Club Med for 2 and 3 year olds will complement the existing children's clubs for kids aged from 4 to 17 years old.
Cobblestone Hotels breaks ground on fifth hotel in Colorado
Cobblestone Hotels celebrated its fifth ground breaking in Colorado with The Cobblestone Inn and Suites located in Eaton. Cobblestone Hotels, which focuses on building in smaller communities, currently has eleven hotels under construction, three of which are in Colorado.
The hotel will have 45 rooms including rooms with whirlpool suites. Amenities in each room include a 40-inch flat-panel TV, DVD player, microwave, refrigerator, coffee service, upgraded bedding and free high-speed internet. Guests of the hotel will also enjoy an on-site beer and wine bar, hot breakfast buffet, weekday newspaper, guest laundry, and on-site convenience store.
