Brice Péan, General Manager of Kempinski's largest resort in Yanqi Lake, Beijing
Kempinski's latest project on the outskirts of Beijing is scheduled to open in mid-2014 with Brice Péan, as the resort's General Manager.
A native of France, Péan graduated from Fremdenverkehrskolleg Innsbruckin Austria. His hospitality career spans 26 years, more than 13 of which were spent in senior management roles with Hilton Hotels in Vienna, Cairo, Adelaide, Fiji and Shanghai. Prior to joining Hilton Hotels in 1999, Péan held positions with Millennium Britannia in London, The Clarence in Dublin, Plaza Athénée and Le Méridien Paris Étoile in Paris.
Yanqi Lake Kempinski Hotel Beijing is set on 14-square-kilometre grounds and it will include hotels, spas, restaurants, bars, a marina and 18 hole golf course as well as extensive MICE facilities. Péan will lead a team of more than 1,000 employees to launch the new development.
Andrew Donadel appointed General Manager of PARKROYAL Saigon
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed Andrew Donadel as General Manager of 186-room PARKROYAL Saigon in Vietnam.
An Australian, Andrew started his hospitality career with The Westin Sydney and Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain before moving on to Ascott International where he spent six years managing Somerset, Citadines and Ascott serviced residences in Singapore and Australia.
Prior to his appointment, Andrew was General Manager of the 180-unit Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, Singapore, where he guided the property from its pre-opening stages to a successful launch last May. At the same time, he also oversaw the management of the adjacent 90-unit PARKROYAL Serviced Suites, Singapore. Both properties are owned and managed by Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
W Taipei appoints Taieb TJ Joulak new Hotel Manager
Taieb TJ Joulak, a.k.a. TJ, has recently been appointed as the Hotel Manager for W Taipei in the heart of Taipei city. TJ's began his Starwood journey since 2002 and started by opening the Iberostar Hammamet in Tunisia, the Sheraton Hotel & Towers Tunis, Tunisia, W Doha in Qatar, the W Istanbul in Turkey, W Bali and now W Taipei. He also worked at the Hotel Grande Bretagne, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Athens Greece.
TJ's educational background includes a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Business Management at the University College Birmingham, UK where he finished as first in class and he also acquired a Degree (BA HONS) in International Marketing and Economics at Birmingham University, UK, and then completed an MBA in Economics and Finance for Hospitality from the same University. With Starwood, he achieved numerous courses through Cornell University.
