As one of the world's top tourist destinations, Spain receives more than 58 million visitors a year but scientists believe temperatures are expected to rise to African levels in many popular holiday areas and deter people from coming to Spain. Northern Spain will become as hot as it is in the South now, and the south will reach similar temperatures to those of Africa and Asia. European Union experts say if the beaches of Spain lose a lot of their surface as predicted by the middle of the century, tourists will choose Northern Europe in search of a tranquil, less humid holiday. The Philippines is gearing up for two major tourism events in the country - the Philippine Travel Exchange in Cebu and the Philippine Travel Mart 2007 in Manila. Phitex is scheduled on September 6 at the Cebu International Convention Centre in Mandaue City, Cebu, event organizer, Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation, said. On the other hand, the Philippine Mart, organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association, will take place at SM Megatrade Halls in Mandaluyong City from September 7 to 9. Some 120 foreign buyers have been invited by the PCVC and the Department of Tourism foreign offices to hold one-on-one discussions with Philippine tourism vendors during Phitex. Buyers will also be given the chance to hold pre and post-event tours to popular Philippine destinations next month. The 2007 Philippine Mart would be devoting the morning of September 7 to foreign buyers attending Phitex. More than 2000 travel and tourism products and services will be featured by 336 exhibitors during the event which carries for its theme: "Everything's Here For You." One of the show's three halls will be devoted to health and wellness providers. Discounted domestic tour packages will also be sold. New tourist destinations such as Batanes and Mindanao will also be featured.

Over the past 23 years, Mr. Tumbelaka has worked with many hotels and resorts including Le Meridien, Holiday Inn in Indonesia as well as Movenpick group in Switzerland. Mr. Tumbelaka has an extensive background in food and beverage positions across multicultural environments, he worked in Indonesia, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria and Germany. He was formerly General Manager of The Ardjuna Boutique Hotel and Spa Bandung, Indonesia.
Baker & McKenzie has advised Property Funds Australia. (PFA) as responsible entity for the PFA Diversified Property Trust on its A$52 million structured acquisition and new management agreement of the Hotel Grand Chancellor Perth. This is the Trust's second hotel acquisition following their acquisition of the Citigate Melbourne. The four-star hotel, comprising 278 guest rooms, is located close to Perth's central business district. The hotel will now be managed by Mirvac Hotels Pty Limited as the Citigate Perth and will undergo an extensive refurbishment.
The award-winning 13-bedroom Glenfinnan House Hotel at Glenfinnan - on the shores of Loch Shiel, near Fort William - has gained Hospitality Assured, the prestigious internationally recognised industry-specific standard for delivering service and business excellence in the hospitality industry. The Hospitality Assured accreditation for the historic 18th century mansion - bought in 1971 by the current owners, the MacFarlane family, who subsequently converted it into the Glenfinnan House Hotel - was undertaken by a team of independent UKAS (The United Kingdom Accreditation Service) assessors from MQA Ltd. on behalf of the Institute of Hospitality, which is the professional body for hospitality industry managers worldwide.
Asia travelers to US still rely upon travel agent, statistics reveal. While Asian travelers maybe utilizing the Internet as their main source of travel information in general, the same cannot be said about travel to the United States. The United States Department of Commerce has revealed that travel agents remain the choice for Asian travelers to the United States. Research conducted by the Office of Travel & Tourism Industries (OTTI) at the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has revealed that the majority of the 6.2 million Asian travelers to the United States relied on travel agents for their trip.
