THIS year's Food and Hotel Malaysia show (FHM 2007) is expected to attract over 15,000 trade visitors, of whom some 10 per cent will be from overseas.
The three-day show, which runs until August 25, will see some 600 exhibitors from 32 countries participating.
It will take place concurrently with Culinaire Malaysia 2007, the region's largest culinary competition.
"A comprehensive exhibition like FHM 2007 is of great importance especially when the government is encouraging hotel and restaurant owners to help grow Malaysia's hospitality and tourism industry," said Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor recently.
A key participant will be Boncafe (M) Sdn Bhd, reputed for its premium coffee and a leading supplier of gourmet coffees and coffee brewing equipment to the hospitality industry.
Holding more than 50 per cent of the local gourmet coffee market, Boncafe recently introduced the Italian-made Rancilio range of espresso coffee machines in addition to its Swiss-made Egro machines.
At the same time, a new coffee packaging has been unveiled that will replace the current design in Southeast Asia.
Also participating will be Winterhalter, Germany's number one commercial dishwasher manufacturer and one of the world's leading players.
The company is confident of growing its Malaysian operations by 20 per cent per year to meet the food and hotel industry's ever increa-sing demand for cost saving.
With a 40 per cent share of the RM7.5 million Malaysian market, Winterhalter is banking on its technology leadership to meet demands for cost savings through introduction of highly automated, high capacity dishwashers.
FHM 2007 is organised by Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd.
