Nepal's casino king R D Tuttle is planning to open a new casino, the ninth one, in the Himalayan nation and also one at Goa in India.
Tuttle is planning to establish a casino at Hotel Malla, that has recently got recognition as the Five Star hotel, sources close to Nepal Recreation Centre, which manages the eight casinos in Nepal, said. Five star hotels in the country are licensed to open casino.
The US expatriate, who has pioneered in the casino industry in Nepal by managing the Casino Nepal -- the first gaming house since 1968 -- now eyes Goa where he is planning to manage a floating casino in collaboration with a local company, they said. "Goa with its booming tourism industry has plenty of opportunity for the casino business," Tuttle said.
Goa Coastal Resorts was bringing a big ship from USA to launch a new casino at the end of this year, NRC sources said here, adding, the ship was arriving in less than a week. Tuttle who has the experience of four decade in running casino business in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Russia, has been asked to look after the management of the three-storey casino.
"There will be around 50 tables in the 30,000 square feet floating casino and games like roulette, baccarat, black jack, paplu, flush, jackpot etc," Tuttle said.
