In the face of recent declines in the value of the U.S. dollar against several major foreign currencies, The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. has inaugurated a Guaranteed U.S. Dollar Rate program, enabling guests to know, in advance, the cost of their accommodations abroad. 

    Rates at 60 currently participating hotels are set in U.S. dollars, thus letting guests "know before they go" what the precise amount of their hotel expenditures will be, alleviating worries about currency fluctuations. 

    Marshall Calder, Senior Vice President of Marketing for The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd., stated, "While the demand for international travel has been overwhelming since mid 2003, the only cloud on the horizon has been the recent weakness of US dollar. 

    "We are aware that hotel accommodations represent a major portion of the travel experience," he continued.  "And with our Guaranteed Dollar program, guests can be assured of a fixed cost at exchange rates that are advantageous to US travelers." 

    Among the hotels participating in the program are The Ritz in London, Hotel Plaza Athenee and Hotel Meurice in Paris, Hotel Lord Byron in Rome, The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, and the Lausanne Palace & Spa in Switzerland.
