Hilton hotels signs hat-trick of new deals in Europe
Welcoming the new signings, Wolfgang M. Neumann, President of Hilton Hotels - Europe, said: "Our development efforts remain firmly in securing opportunities in a number of strategic markets including Russia, Italy and Poland, where we believe there exists favourable growth conditions across our portfolio of hotel brands. These latest signings indicate the dynamic expansion that our multi brand development strategy is generating".
He added: "So far in 2008 we have announced signings for 13 new hotels in continental Europe, adding almost 3,000 rooms to our portfolio over the next two years. This momentum is critical to our success as we aim to quickly establish new brands like Hilton Garden Inn, Doubletree by Hilton, and Hampton by Hilton in both our established markets and new destinations".
Hilton Garden Inn Treviso, Italy
Under a long term management agreement with Tecnoecology Srl, HHC plans to open a new Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Treviso in early 2010. Situated on the city's Castellana road, the 171 room Hilton Garden Inn Treviso will be a short drive from the centre and only five kilometres from Treviso's Canova Airport. The hotel's location makes it the perfect base for exploring the city's medieval centre, as well as the surrounding area, with Venice only 20 kilometres away. This latest signing reinforces the ongoing expansion of the innovative Hilton Garden Inn brand across Italy, with three properties currently located in Rome Airport, Florence and Matera, as well as plans to open new hotels in Bologna, Milan, Bari and Lecce over the next 24 months.
Hilton Garden Inn Warsaw Mokotow, Poland
HHC has entered into a franchise agreement with Hotel System Sobieskiego Sp.z.o.o to open a Hilton Garden Inn property in Warsaw. The 266 room Hilton Garden Inn Warsaw Mokotow, which is expected to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2009, is set to boost the mid-price hotel brand's presence in Poland, joining the Hilton Garden Inn Rzeszow - which is also anticipated to open in 2009. The newly built hotel will be situated in a popular business district, just a short drive from the city centre and will offer guests an all day restaurant, bar and spacious meeting facilities. HHC currently operates one hotel in Poland - the Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Convention Centre- with another Hilton hotel expected to open in Gdansk in 2010.
Doubletree by Hilton Perm, Russia
Anticipated to open towards the end of 2010, the new Doubletree by Hilton Perm will become the company's second hotel in the city, following the recent opening of Hilton Garden Inn Perm. Under a franchise agreement with BC Development LLC, the new Doubletree property will feature 288 rooms, a full service restaurant and bar, health club and swimming pool and eight fully equipped meeting rooms. The hotel will be the second Doubletree by Hilton property in Russia, following the debut of the company's first Doubletree by Hilton in Novosibirsk in Siberia, which is expected to launch at the beginning of 2009. HHC debuted its first Russian hotel in August with the opening of Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya.
HHC currently operates over 85 hotels in continental Europe across more than 27 countries. The company has already four new hotels in 2008 and expects to add a further six properties by the end of the year
