WOW.travel (the online magazine of kiwicollection.com) edited by Mary Gostelow, introduces Seven Sensational Places to Learn.
1) Four Seasons Resort Whistler, Canada

Working with Whistler Blackcomb, the hotel offers an exclusive ski instructor program, with private instruction via walkie-talkie headsets. Ski and snowboard disciplines can be one-to-one, or in groups, at any level. Afterwards, relax with an Après Ski Massage and, while you laze in the heated outdoor jacuzzi, servers offer what some say is the world's best hot chocolate, with homemade cookies.

2) Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, Argentina

Where else can you learn to tango under Murano chandeliers (and you know the hotel's General Manager is himself a fanatic of the dance that comes from this vibrant city)? They can lay on whatever classes you want, and direct you to some of the best tango shows in town. To recover, enjoy a sampling of fine Argentinean wines in the hotel's Duhau Restaurante & Vinoteca, where 350 labels are on display, and try some cheeses in the dedicated cheese room.

3) The Grove, Chandler's Cross, England

Gardening classes with onsite specialist David Roberts are in the orchid house, or the well-stocked three-acre walled garden, built in 1878 for the Earl of Clarendon (this also has a small beach and shallow pool, but they are for sun-worshippers!). Twenty minutes from London, you also have 300 acres of rolling pasture, golf and a fabulous spa with Olympic-sized indoor pool.

4) Villa San Michele, A Doccia, Fiesole, Italy

To make perfect pasta, or cook anything Italian, learn from the masters in the conservatory studio-kitchen attached to the hotel. Most popular are the half-day classes, on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, through lunch, guided by Executive Chef Attilio di Fabrizio (maximum ten students, one per station). Afterwards enjoy a bellini as you sit on the terrace looking far down at Florence, 20 minutes away.
