Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management Offers Multiple Ways to their Professional Development Program
CNI's Professional Development Program is offered twice a year (January and July) in Singapore. This July, around twenty courses will be provided - each of which lasts three days, covering different aspects of hotel management. PDP teaches cutting‐edge management techniques, presented by internationally-recognised faculty members and industry leaders. Participants can earn Cornell certifications in Human Resource Management, Revenue Management and Food Service Management. CNI will also award advanced certification in Hospitality Marketing through PDP. The first special fee scheme is the two-tiered Early Bird Full Payment Discount. It enables registered applicants of PDP to shave off US$500 from the full fee of US$2,500, if they make payment by May 31. If payment is made from June 1 to June 30, the discount is US$300. The second special fee scheme falls under the Cornell PDP Certification Package. Registered applicants for PDP who make full payment for a package of four courses can enjoy an additional 10 per cent discount on top of the available rates you pay. The third option is the Special Corporate Price. CNI has a Special Corporate Price scheme with several partner hospitality organizations. Interested participants should contact CNI at +65 6316-8865 or E-mail: cni-exceed@ntu.edu.sg for enquiries. For further information on the program, please visit www.cni.edu.sg. The fourth special fee scheme is the Workforce Development Agency-CNI PDP Grant. Offered exclusively to Singapore citizens and permanent residents, the grant enables qualified participants to save 90 per cent of the US$2,500 course fee. More good news if participants sign up by May 31 as they need to pay only US$200 (after deducting the US$500 discount from the US$2,500 course fee). If they sign up from June 1 to June 30, they pay just US$220 (after deducting US$300 from the US$2,500 course fee). The PDP July 2010 Certification Packages offered in Singapore are as follows: a. Certification in Human Resource Management
b. Advanced Certification in Hospitality Marketing
c. Certification in Revenue Management
d. Certification in Food Service Management
The complete course schedule for the July 2 to August 4 PDP program is available at www.cni.ntu.edu.sg. The Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management (CNI) is jointly operated and governed by Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and Nanyang Technological University's Business School. Located in Singapore, CNI is strategically positioned to develop leaders, managers and entrepreneurs for the Asian hospitality and tourism industry. CNI offers three hospitality education programs designed to alleviate the severe shortage of qualified talent that is currently plaguing the hospitality industry in Asia Pacific. Equivalent to an MBA, the one year Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) program prepares students to be theory-based, action-oriented leaders of executive management teams and entrepreneurial ventures in the hospitality and service industry. CNI MMH students spend six months at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and six months at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, thus taking advantage of educational and networking opportunities in both Asia and North America in a single year. The Professional Development Program (PDP) offers three-day courses that cover different aspects of hotel management. PDP teaches cutting-edge management techniques, presented by internationally recognized faculty members and industry leaders. Participants can earn Cornell certifications in Financial Management, Food, Beverage, and Restaurant Management, General and Strategic Management, Human-Resource Management, Marketing, Operations Management and Property-Asset Management and Real Estate. CNI has hosted over 1,000 PDP participants from nearly 40 countries in the last three years. The July 2010 PDP will be held from July 22 to August 4, 2010. The General Managers Program (GMP) is designed for hotel general managers of full service hotels and their immediate successors. Participants in this ten-day program concentrate on strategic hospitality management issues, work collaboratively to expand the foundation of their knowledge, and produce new solutions to the challenges they face. The GMP 2010 in Singapore will be offered from July 19 to 29, 2010. Please visit www.cni.ntu.edu.sg for more information. Related articles
