The Mexican Tourism Promotion Council released figures showing 20.5 million foreign tourists visited Mexico in 2004. Officials expect 2005 to surpass these figures. The increase represents a 9.9 percent uptick in tourist arrivals which led to total spending of $10.6 billion, an increase of 12.3 percent over 2003.
