Mexico Posts Increase in Tourism Arrivals

The Mexican Tourism Promotion Council released figures showing 20.5 million foreign tourists visited Mexico in 2004. Officials expect 2005 to surpass these figures. The increase represents a 9.9 percent uptick in tourist arrivals which led to total spending of $10.6 billion, an increase of 12.3 percent over 2003. Tourism officials expect to host 21.6 million tourists and take in $11.3 billion in 2005
