Le Royal Méridien Yacht Club is among the vast majority of hotels and resorts that were
largely unaffected by tsunami
Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club is part of a strengthening number of tourism-related businesses that are appealing for people to return to Phuket, and help curb any further negative impact that the recent tsunami might have on the tourism industry and all of the lives and futures that it supports.
The resort is among the vast majority of Phuket hotels and resorts that were largely unaffected by the tsunami, and have remained operational throughout the recent events. No guest rooms or facilities suffered any damage, and beachfront debris was completely cleaned up within days.
While still saddened by the tragedy and deaths suffered within the greater Phuket community, most things have returned to normal at both Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club and the surrounding businesses.
To encourage people to return to Phuket and enjoy the island and superb holiday environment, Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club
is now continuing to offer the special discount of USD 180+++ for three nights from 31 March to 30 June 2005 to travel professionals.
Dominique Lapointe, General Manager of Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club, said: “This is really an appeal on behalf of the entire local community. Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club is one of the anchor properties in Nai Harn, and a significant drop in our reservations not only affects the staff in our own shops and restaurants, but the entire surrounding business community – from tuk-tuk drivers to tour operators, souvenir shops and beach vendors.”
“It is important that we continue to attract further travel professionals here and help them regain the confidence in Phuket as well as help convey to the world that Phuket is still a tropical paradise. In order to continue our strong support to the industry, we have extended our special discount rate from 31 March to
30 June 2005
.”

, offering exclusivity and luxury in a sophisticated, yet friendly environment.
The resort’s fronted white-sand beach, Nai Harn, was also largely unaffected, and beach goers are again enjoying the idyllic high season weather. None of the infrastructure, services or supplies in Nai Harn or neighbouring Rawai or Kata beaches suffered any type of disruption.
