Doubletree(R) Hotels is bringing the power of an advertising agency, marketing firm and printing house into one handy, online toolkit for its portfolio of more than 150 properties across North America. The new Doubletree Online Toolkit (DOT) makes the design, copy development and approval of marketing materials for its individual hotels easier, faster and more cost effective. In addition, the toolkit will provide consistency of marketing messages at both the local and regional levels.
"A survey we conducted at the beginning of the year found that eight out of 10 Doubletree hotels would use an online solution. It was clearly time to simplify and empower our hotels to enhance their marketing outreach efforts with the creation of the DOT," said Ronnie Kaiser, senior director - brand marketing for Doubletree. "This 24-hour, 7 day a week resource simultaneously allows real-time customization of marketing materials, streamlines the approval process and creative time, and provides cost savings that can be used toward other marketing efforts."
The DOT allows hotel teams to conserve their most valuable commodities - time and money - while maximizing their ability to quickly react to market conditions and increasing exposure for their properties.
In the first of a two-phase roll-out, key features of DOT include:
-- Online Customization - The toolkit has the ability to customize ads and marketing materials online through a collection of easy-to-use templates. The design tool automatically redraws the piece after each change is made.
-- Logo and Photo Downloads - DOT provides downloads of low- and high-resolution logos (JPG and EPS, respectively) for on-property use or vendor printing. It also allows easy access to property-specific photography so that advertising and marketing collateral can be tailored to the hotel's individual look.
-- My Account - The kit saves all customized materials in a property-only section for future updates/changes and submission for approval. Properties can also email a file of the piece to colleagues for review.
-- Quick and Easy Approval Process - Once the piece is complete, the approval process is streamlined using automation. Properties can often receive the go-ahead in less than 48 hours.
-- Printing Options -The DOT allows hotels to have their pieces printed through a pre-approved preferred printer with prices shown during the ordering process, or outsource to one's favorite local vendor.

Future enhancements planned for the DOT include off-the-shelf items for customized sales flyers, Food & Beverage collateral materials and direct mail pieces.
