Shampoo ranked top for UK hotel thefts

Britons take 430,000 gallons of shampoo from hotels every year, a new survey has revealed.
As many as 70% of guests admit to nicking the mini shampoo bottles, the poll from the Hotels.com company found.
The amount taken annually is the equivalent of more than 14,000 bathtubs full of shampoo.
Shower gel and conditioner are the next most popular items to be taken, followed by sewing kits, emery boards and soap.
Only 19% feel guilty about taking the items, believing that they have paid for them already and are therefore expected to remove them.
Female guests are more than twice as likely to take the shampoo as male guests. Just 4% of men take emery boards and 9% of men take sewing kits.
Other items liberated from from hotel rooms include soap, shower caps, stationery, bathrobes and, bizarrely, 'Do not disturb' signs.
