The London Marriott West India Quay Hotel received a ‘Highly Commended’ award from the judges in the ‘Best PR Activity’ category for its ‘Press Club’ campaign aimed at increasing leisure visits to Docklands.
“The quality and quantity of entries was outstanding this year and I am delighted to see recognition for some smaller independent hotels as well as the more familiar hotel groups,” said Pamela Carvell, chairman of the HMA.
Sponsored by American Express, the Hotel Marketing Awards are the only dedicated recognition scheme, which celebrate good practice in hotel marketing and are judged by industry experts. The winners were presented with their awards in a ceremony at the Savoy Hotel on 19 December 2005.
The HMA is the official industry group of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and its members comprise sales and marketing specialists and operators of both independent and chain hotels.
