Three New Hotels in January Boost WORLDHOTELS’ Asia Portfolio
WORLDHOTELS, the world’s fastest growing group of independent hotels and local hotel groups has announced three new hotels in Asia effective January 2006. They include Shanghai’s largest conference centre hotel, the first resort-style hotel in Dongguan, South China and the first five star resort by a local Cambodian designer in Siem Reap. The Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition International Hotel joins the First Class Collection, while the Richwood Garden Hotel Dongguan and the Angkor Palace Resort & Spa Siem Reap join the Deluxe Collection. The announcement brings the total number of hotels in the WORLDHOTELS Asia portfolio to 70 and nearly 500 worldwide. “After a highly successful year in 2005 we are delighted to start 2006 on a high with the announcement of these three great new properties,” said Roland Jegge, VP Asia/Pacific of WORLDHOTELS. Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition International Hotel Affordable and ultra-convenient for business travellers attending its many trade shows and conferences, Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition International Hotel is adjacent to the conference venue in the heart of Xujiahui District, the city's booming commercial and entertainment centre. It is a major district landmark, comprising two identical thirty-storey high buildings shaped somewhat like the Arc de Triomphe -- featuring 800 guestrooms and a wide range of food & beverage outlets offering Chinese and western cuisine. With 30 meeting halls, multi-function halls and a large demo hall, it is extremely popular for large-scale international conferences and trade shows. Excellent transport links including subway No. 1 and a light rail station mean Shanghai Everbright is conveniently accessible to most of the city. Hong Qiao Airport is just 10 kms away. The city centre is 13 kms away. Entertainment facilities include a ballroom, discotheque, karaoke lounge and KTV rooms. Recreational options range from a gym, swimming pool and bowling to squash, billiards and tennis. Shanghai Everbright becomes the fourth WORLDHOTELS property in Shanghai and the 25th in its fast-expanding Greater China portfolio. Richwood Garden Hotel The brand new Richwood Garden Hotel is attractively located on the banks of the Hengzhen Reservoir in Humen Town, the famous fashion and textiles district of Dongguan in South China. The 370 room hotel is the newest five star hotel in this fast growing manufacturing area close to Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and is the first resort style hotel in the city. It becomes the 26th hotel to join WORLDHOTELS in Greater China. The 55,000 sq m property is designed in an attractive low-rise Balinese style in lush tropical grounds and has already been nominated for the Lu Ban Architectural Award, the most prestigious architectural award in China. All of the hotel’s guestrooms feature an attractive contemporary design, broadband internet access and plasma screen TVs. The luxurious contemporary style bathrooms have separate showers and bathtubs. A total of nine restaurants and bars offer a wide range of high quality dining and entertainment options including Chinese, Japanese, South East Asian and western cuisine. The Havana Red Wine and Cigar Bar is an elegant place to unwind after work, while more lively entertainment can be enjoyed at the No 9 Club which is fast becoming one of the entertainment highlights of Dongguan. It features no less than 54 VIP rooms equipped with ktv facilities and the latest sound and lighting technology. The Richwood Garden also boasts a 1700 sq m international conference hall and several deluxe meeting rooms which can accommodate meetings of up to 1000 people. State of the art facilities include simultaneous multilingual translation facilities and broadband internet access. Angkor Palace Resort & Spa The Angkor Palace Resort & Spa is set amidst 11 hectares of exotic tropical gardens and offers a delightful resort base from which to discover the legendary temples of Angkor. The first five star resort in the city designed by a Cambodian architect, the resort features 12 villas, four suites and 70 deluxe rooms all tastefully furnished in Cambodian style with inlaid teak floors and traditional two or four poster beds. Located just 15 minutes from the Angkor temples and 10 minutes from the airport, the resort combines traditional Khmer architecture with modern facilities such as wireless internet access in most of the public areas, business centre, 24 hour in-room dining and concierge services. The resort’s Kainnora Spa is a relaxing sanctuary offering a wide range of holistic body treatments including traditional Khmer massage, as well as a range of pampering massages and body wraps and scrubs. Other recreational facilities include a gym, tennis courts and a large attractive swimming pool. The resort is also well equipped for meetings and events and features the Royal Ballroom which can accommodate up to 200 theatre style or 300 for a cocktail reception.
