General Manager appointments from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce four General Manager appointments at various locations throughout its portfolio:  

Kiaran MacDonald has been named General Manager of  The Savoy, A Fairmont Hotel.   Mr. MacDonald joins the historic London hotel from The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, where he has been General Manager since 2003.  Mr. MacDonald began his career in 1981 in his native London, with the Royal Garden Hotel and the Metropole.  He joined Fairmont in 1995 as Director, Food & Beverage at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and later became Hotel Manager before joining The Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver as General Manager. 

Jonathan Crellin has been named General Manager of The Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Bermuda.  He brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role, where he will manage the operation of the 410-room property.  In his previous position as General Manager of The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston, Mr. Crellin was awarded the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts "2000 Innovation Award, Learning and Development" for Rooms Division Self Directed Learning Program; the "Star of the Industry, Outstanding Manager of the Year" award from the Massachusetts Lodging Association in 1998; and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) "Creative Leadership Award." 

Paul Tormey has been appointed Regional Vice President & General Manager of The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston, beginning 6 November 2006.  Mr. Tormey comes to Boston most recently from The Fairmont Chateau Whistler where he acted as General Manager.  He brings 22 years experience to the position, with previous titles including Hotel Manager, The Plaza, New York and General Manager, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. 

Michael Kaile has been named General Manager of The Fairmont Chateau Whistler.   Mr. Kaile brings more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry to The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, and has managed hotels in England, Asia and Canada.  Mr. Kaile joined Fairmont in 1991 as General Manager of The Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver, and was later appointed Vice President and General Manager in 1995.  He has also managed The Fairmont Hamilton Princess and, most recently, The Fairmont Dubai.
