Low carbon system for better meetings goes live

A revolutionary new system to improve the effectiveness of meetings, while cutting the CO2 emissions, has been installed at its first venue.
The Park Plaza County Hall Hotel in Central London is equipping one of its prestige boardrooms with the MeetingPod system for an initial two week trial starting week commencing 10 November 2008. Pending a successful trial period this will be launched as part of Park Plaza County Hall's meetings package.
The MeetingPod is a paperless, electronic meeting system, which shares all the event's information and sends it to all the delegates by e-mail after the meeting. It replaces the need for paper-based agendas and papers or even a projector, with a compact all-in-one unit designed specifically for table-based meetings.
Park Plaza County Hall's General Manager, Philip Chambers, said "We're very excited about the MeetingPod and what we'll be able to offer our customers. It lowers the carbon footprint compared with a paper-based meeting by around 85%, which is great for our corporate social responsibility reporting. It also benefits our customers by improving communication and agreement during and after their meetings. If we can help our customers have a better meeting, that's good news for us all round".
He went on to say "The MeetingPod is also going to help us get closer to our customers. We can provide important information to the meeting attendees and be certain they have seen it."
"Altogether, the MeetingPod is a very attractive package for our venue. We're proud to say that we are the first place in the world to have it," Chambers concluded.
Dave Wickett, Synanto's Sales Director said "We've developed the MeetingPod because of a growing awareness in the industry of the need to offer a better meeting service. This means cutting the CO2 associated with meetings and providing ways of improving the outcome of meetings."
He added "We're delighted Park Plaza County Hall is the first place to trial the system. With an excellent venue of six well equipped meeting rooms in Central London they've always been one step ahead with their meetings and events programme, but now the hotel has got a distinctive edge over all their competitors."
