“Once in a lifetime” is an expression that is way overused in the travel business.
But this time it is for real.
I’m talking about a trip so over-the-top, so one-of-a-kind, and so luxurious, that it has never been attempted before.
Or to paraphrase Jaws, “We’re going to need a bigger Bucket List.”
I’m talking about an epic 22-day circumnavigation of the globe, with ten stops in places like Hawaii, Bora Bora, The Pyramids of Egypt, Australia, Thailand and Bali.
In a private jet. A big private jet.
TCS & Starquest Expeditions is the world’s premier operator of guided group trips using specially modified private commercial jetliners. They have been doing this niche, and doing it extremely well, for over 20 years. But this time they outdid themselves, partnering with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, the highly acclaimed operator of many of the world’s finest properties. At the very top echelon of luxury hotels is a small and elite group that includes the likes of Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental, and in this group, Four Seasons has by far the biggest global portfolio of properties (I wrote about one that is frequently ranked the very best hotel in the world).

So imagine cherry-picking the best destinations on earth in which Four Seasons has luxury digs, connecting them with a private Boeing 757 modified to carry just 78 people (757s usually hold up to 289), all in First Class comfort, and adding a private chef, concierge and even private physician. Throw in VIP tours, private experiences, expert lecturers, all gourmet meals, transfers and the conveniences of private aviation and smaller airports That’s a once-in-a-lifetime-trip.
“It truly is the ultimate bucket list item for the luxury traveler, the trip for someone who thinks they’ve done it all,” said Chad Clark, a renowned high-end travel agent in Scottsdale, Arizona. A few months back I wrote a detailed 3-part series on Why You Need A Travel Agent (today more than ever), and showcased some of the nation’s very best luxury specialists, of which Chad Clark Travel was one. It was Clark who first brought this trip to my attention. “It’s one stop shopping for the ‘best of the best!’ It’s the best places, the best lodging, and the best transportation.”
