This one is for all of you that have been involved in our industry. This article will be a fun one for all of you that care to leave a comment. Here is your turn to see how you will open and staff a 400 room beach-side 4 star property with 3 restaurants, 2 lounges, and a rooftop bar and cabana. The catch is that you must staff all department heads with living political candidates only. Who would you choose to manage your hotel? General Manager, Room’s Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, and so forth. Let’s see who you would choose and why?
This was the exercise that we did while in Sand Diego and we received some very interesting surprises as to who was chosen and why. I thought that I would put it out to all the readers to see how you would do. While you consider this exercise, there are some rules to follow — all political figures elected or otherwise must be living. Past politicians are acceptable. When you staff your hotel please explain why you think that your political figure would be good in this position.
I would also like to hear the salary that you would consider paying these candidates. Second phase of project is once you have staffed your property, how would you go about marketing it with these prominent political figures on your staff? Good luck and ‘No new taxes.” Please consider emailing me your plan of attack.
