The 452-room InterContinental London The O2 will be managed by Arora Hotels but operate under a franchise agreement with Meridian Hotel Operations. It will have a 3,000 metres square open-plan hotel ballroom, which is claimed to be the largest pillar-free ballroom in Europe, and a sky bar with 180-degree views over Canary Wharf and the Thames. Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen Debuts. The new Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen located here officially opened. The hotel is located in the new downtown within just 10 minutes' drive of the Huanggang and Futian borders to Hong Kong. Architects Urabanus and interior designers Hirsch Bedner & Associates (HBA) have created a contemporary, light-filled tower with a sixth level reception that overlooks green spaces and water courtyards with panoramic views of the city. Ravel Hotel To Build 80,000 Square Foot Expansion. Long Island City’s luxury boutique hotel, The Ravel Hotel today announced today a $10 million renovation and expansion plan with a target date of completion in May, 2014. The Estate at Ravel, an expansion of the existing 63-room boutique hotel, adds an adjacent tower with more than 45,000 square feet of catering and meeting facilities to the existing building, new guest rooms and 35,000 square feet of outdoor space. Located just across the East River with incomparable views of the Manhattan skyline, the hotel will add an additional 54 guest rooms and two bridal suites, all featuring terraces with expansive views, as well as an indoor/outdoor space on the third floor featuring a reflecting pool that converts into an ice skating rink in the colder months and a landscaped garden that can be utilized for private events. The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, unveils the resort’s largest hotel suite. Trumping elaborate hotel suites throughout the region, the Royal Suite spans nearly 22,600 square feet with four bedrooms, a private study, cinema and games room, spa treatment room and sauna as well as full living and dining room. The debut of the Royal Suite marks the completion of The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, which opened late 2011. Located on the pristine white beaches of Saadiyat, the resort features 377 luxurious guest rooms and suites with panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. The resort also offers the region’s first Iridium Spa, extensive leisure facilities for families including the athletic club and the Sandcastle Club, a dedicated children’s club which caters to children up to age 12 with both indoor and outdoor activities unique to the destination.
