Benchmark names Suya Davenport Corporate Director of Leisure Sales for Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotels
Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Suya Davenport corporate director of leisure sales for the company's Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotels brand. Ms. Davenport is based in Naples, Florida, and operates out of offices within Benchmark's Naples Bay Resort, a Personal Luxury Resort located in the city.
In her new position, Suya Davenport will serve as the primary liaison to domestic and international luxury travel providers for the eleven Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotels located in Florida, Tennessee, California and Washington State. With an extensive background in representing luxury properties and destinations, she will work directly with travel industry partners, including Virtuoso, American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Signature Travel Network, Ensemble Travel Group and Preferred Hotel Group.
Suya Davenport was previously director of sales & marketing for ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa in Bal Harbour, Florida, and at Naples Bay Resort, in Naples, Florida. Prior to joining Benchmark Hospitality International, Davenport served as executive director of the Lee County Visitors & Convention Bureau in Fort Myers, which under her leadership received three Flagler Awards by VISIT FLORIDA and a Destiny Award from the U.S. Travel Association. Earlier in her career, she served in sales leadership positions at major luxury-brand hotels and resorts on both coasts of Florida and in the Caribbean.
Davenport graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing degree. She had earlier earned her Associate of Arts in Business Administration degree from Edison Community College in Fort Myers. Davenport has been the recipient of several professional honors during her career with Benchmark Hospitality, including the Transient Sales Executive of the Year award in 2010, the Director of Sales & Marketing of the Year award for 2011, and the Attitude & Determination award for 2012.
FCS Boosts Australian presence with new Country Manager
FCS Computer Systems (FCS), a hospitality solutions and services provider, is pleased to report on the recent growth of the company's Australian operations due to continued interest from the region's hotel and resort industry.
The news comes with the recent appointment of Trudi Chambers as Country Manager for FCS in Australia. Chambers brings more than 16 years of sales experience in the Australian hospitality market.
Hilton Palacio Del Rio appoints Joseph Feldmann Senior Sous Chef
Zachry Hospitality has appointed Joseph Feldmann as Senior Sous Chef. He will manage food and beverage initiatives in catering, in-room dining and the hotel's culinary operations including The River's Edge Cafe and Patio Bar.
Feldmann brings eight years of experience to his new role at Hilton Palacio del Rio. In his former role at Piatti Éilan San Antonio Italian Restaurant, he was responsible for brunch, lunch and dinner service.
Prior to Piatti Éilan, Feldmann worked as an executive chef at Sonny McLean's restaurant in California where he developed new menus and specialty items including wine/beer/food pairings, weekly specials, craft beer dinners, and catering events. Feldmann has also held positions with Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica and Falcon Restaurant and Lounge in Los Angeles. Feldmann earned his culinary arts degree from Glendale Community College in Glendale, CA.
