Dusit Thani Guam Resort appoints Dean Huntsman General Manager
Asian hospitality group Dusit International has appointed Dean Huntsman to the position of General Manager of Dusit Thani Guam Resort.
Scheduled for Q3/2014 opening, the beachside resort will have 417 guest rooms over 30 floors and a host of facilities, including restaurants, bars and Guam's largest convention center.
An accomplished hotelier, Huntsman joins the Dusit International team with over twenty years' experience in the hospitality field. Previously he worked with the Jumeirah Group as Director of Operations followed by a stint as Hotel Manager of the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel in New York City.
Prior to joining the Jumeirah Group, he spent over fifteen years with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Rooms Division and Sales and Marketing roles in locations including Guam, Oman, Indonesia, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Australia.
A dual national of the United States and Australia, Huntsman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management from Les Roches Hotel Management School, Switzerland.
Dan Russell new Senior VP of Operations for Red Roof
Red Roof Inn has promoted Regional Vice President, Dan Russell to Senior Vice President of Operations. Russell will oversee operations including all initiatives relative to quality, sales and finance for District 1 and report directly to Red Roof President, Andrew Alexander.
Russell started his career as a night auditor at the brand's Flint, Michigan property. He is a six time recipient of the Red Roof Sales Award of Distinction, serves on Red Roof's Manager's Council and was named GM of the Year in 1994. He is active in his community as a volunteer with Toys for Tots and Mott's Children's Hospital. In 2014, Russell will celebrate his 30th anniversary with Red Roof Inn.
