Dorsett Shepherds Bush appoints Declan Murphy Director of Sales and Marketing
Dorsett Hospitality Internationalhas appointed Declan Murphy as Director of Sales and Marketing for Dorsett Shepherds Bush, the group's first hotel venture in Europe, set to open in May 2014.
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Declan will be responsible for driving business to Dorsett Shepherds Bush in the competitive London market and heading up the global PR and marketing campaign for the property.
Before joining Dorsett Hospitality International, Declan directed the Sales and Marketing programme at the Dhillon Group, a privately owned collection of three luxury boutique hotels - Stoke Place, The Olde Bell and The Crown, located on the outskirts of London. Prior to that, he was Sales and Marketing Director at Dukes Hotel in Mayfair. A UK and London specialist, Declan has also worked with hotels including the Cotswold House Hotel in Gloucestershire, The Courthouse Hotel Kempinski and The Bentley Kempinski, both in London.
Dorsett Shepherds Bush will be the newest addition to the Dorsett Hospitality International portfolio when it opens in May 2014. Located within a Grade II listed building formerly housing a cinema, the hotel will offer 317 rooms, a gourmet Chinese dining experience, and a stylish spa in an ideal location for both business and leisure guests in West London.
Fred Trimble Assistant Director of Sales for Bonaventure Resort & Spa, Fort Lauderdale
Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Fred Trimble assistant director of sales for Bonaventure Resort & Spa, a Benchmark Resort located in Fort Lauderdale.
Fred Trimble was previously senior sales manager for Bonaventure Resort & Spa, a position he assumed in 2013. Prior to joining Benchmark Hospitality International, Trimble was senior sales manager for the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Florida, and the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, located in the Bahamas. He has also worked in management positions for Marriott hotels and resorts within the sales and convention services departments.
Trimble is a graduate of Wright State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
New General Manager and Director of Sales at Hyatt Place Portland Old Port, Maine
Commonwealth Hotels LLC has announced that Alen Saric has been appointed General Manager and Deborah Roberts the Director of Sales for the new Hyatt Place Portland Old Port. The Hyatt Place is 130 rooms and is owned by Cow Plaza LLC, an affiliate of East Brown Cow.
Prior to joining the Hyatt Place, Alen Saric has served in the hotel industry for over 10 years, most recently with the Hilton and Marriott family of brands in the Portland area.
As Director of Sales, 10-year industry veteran Deborah Roberts will direct all area of the hotel's sales and marketing efforts.
Due to open mid to late 2nd quarter of 2014, its carbon foot print will be reduced by using LED lighting, low flow water solutions, EnergyStar products, as well a combined heat and power plant and other efficient features.
Peter Klebanoff to head OpenWays Mobile Key business development in the Americas
To apprise properties, managers, owners and brands on the mobile-strategy enhancement capabilities of Mobile Key - a technology that enables travelers to use any of the 6.8 billion cell phones or smartphones worldwide as a mobile room key - OpenWays has hired 30-year hospitality industry veteran and hotel technology advocate Peter Klebanoff as Senior Vice President, Business Development.
Prior to joining OpenWays, Klebanoff spent 16 years with LodgeNet Interactive Corp. (SONIFI Solutions) where he played numerous executive roles and developed a customer-satisfaction index program to help measure and improve hotel satisfaction, including ways to speed check-out. On the hotel operations side, Klebanoff played front office and housekeeping roles for Holiday Inn, Ramada, Sheraton and Marriott (where he went through their management training program as well).
He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in hotel management from the University of Massachusetts and received executive education at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Business. He has numerous professional affiliations, and served on the American Hotel & Lodging Association E-Business Committee and Tradeshow Task Force.
