New Langham Place Hotel opens in Xiamen, China
The opening of Langham Place in Xiamen makes it the ninth Langham Hospitality Group hotel in mainland China and 22nd in its global portfolio. The hotel is also the third Langham Place hotel to open in the last three months, after Guangzhou and Ningbo respectively.
The 327 rooms and suites include signature Dream Beds, a personalised pillow menu and a creative ‘Dream' themed turn down service inspired by the local culture of Xiamen. Located on the top two floors, the Club L guestrooms allow guests to enjoy the exclusivity of the two-level Lounge with views of the city skyline. In addition, Club L guests may also enjoy an extra level of personalised service and privileges including complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and the use of the boardroom.
The hotel includes several dining options. The all-day restaurant The Place features interactive show kitchens, buffets and a-la-carte selections. Guests may also watch the talented chefs prepare dishes a-la-minute on the Mongolian barbecue grill.
The hotel's signature restaurant, Ming Court, reminiscent of its Michelin-star namesake at Langham Place, Hong Kong, specialises in modern and authentic Cantonese cuisine and has nine private dining rooms that are ideal for entertaining business clients or friends and family.
Other outlets on offer include the live-cooking teppanyaki station at T2, which offers tapas, whisky and sakes, and L Bar serves tasty bites, along with creative cocktails and fine wines from it two-storey wine cellar.
The hotel also offers nine meeting rooms ranging from 60 to 720 square metres. The pillar-free grand ballroom can cater up to 655 guests.
World-renowned Kakadu hotels to join the Accor network
The owners of the famed Crocodile Hotel and Cooinda Lodge in Australia's Kakadu National Park, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Accor to manage their hotels from 1 April, 2014. They will replace incumbent managers, Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG).
The 110 room Crocodile Hotel is located at Jabiru, some 2½ hours drive south east of Darwin, and offers the only deluxe accommodation in Kakadu. Renowned for the crocodile shape of the hotel design, the hotel is built around a large, landscaped swimming pool and features extensive leisure and business facilities, including conference space for up to 250 delegates.
Cooinda Lodge is located next to the Yellow Water Billabong and is part of a hotel/tourism operation that includes the 48 room Lodge as well as a large camping site, the award-winning Yellow Water Cruises, Yellow Water Fishing, Gagudju Adventure Tours, a general store, fuel station and the Warradjan Cultural Centre.
The hotels were the first major tourism properties developed in Australia by an Indigenous organisation (the Gagudju people). The Crocodile Hotel opened in 1988, shortly after the Crocodile Dundee films put the international tourism spotlight on the Kakadu region and its spectacular natural attractions.
The two hotels will join Australia's largest hotel network, Accor, which also has the most extensive presence in the Northern Territory, including hotels in Darwin, Katherine and at Ayers Rock (Uluru).
Current managers of the two properties - Daniel Lukritz (Crocodile Hotel) and Vanessa Thomson (Cooinda Lodge) - will stay with the hotels following the change of management.
Peppers to launch in Asia with rebrand of Sentosa Seminyak
Australian hoteliers, Mantra Group, have announced that Sentosa Seminyak will join its Peppers brand in March.
The villa resort to be known as Peppers Sentosa Seminyak is the second property for the Group in Indonesia joining the newly built Mantra Nusa Dua which opened late 2012.
Peppers is Mantra Group's boutique collection of 28 retreats and resorts across Australia and New Zealand.
Peppers Sentosa Seminyak comprises 49 three, four and five bedroom luxury villas (177 rooms in total) each with private swimming pools set amidst lush tropical gardens and lotus ponds with a large poolside Bale for relaxation and massages.
A fully equipped gourmet kitchen and spacious living areas ensure a private haven for guests to relax and unwind, whilst the resort's central location within walking distance to Seminyak's designer boutiques and restaurants allows for easy exploration of the local area.
Celebrated Australian chef, Luke Mangan's on-site signature restaurant, Salt tapas & bar, helmed by Sydney chef Angus Harrison, offers a menu incorporating fresh local produce and spices ideal for sharing, complemented by an extensive wine list.
Another two Peppers and Mantra properties in Indonesia are in the pipeline for Mantra Group and expected to be announced in the first half of 2014.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group to launch PARKROYAL and extend "Pan Pacific" presence in China
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has signed two management agreements for PARKROYAL Chengdu and Pan Pacific Zhuhai, marking the upcoming debut of the PARKROYAL brand and the opening of its sixth "Pan Pacific" property in China.
Under the management agreement with Xinyuan Holding Group Co. Ltd, Pan Pacific Hotels Group will manage PARKROYAL Chengdu, China's first PARKROYAL hotel that is scheduled to open in 2017.
The capital of Sichuan province, Chengdu is one of the most important economic, transportation, and communication centres in Western China. PARKROYAL Chengdu will be located along the Sha River and opposite the University of Electronic Science and Technology, within the oldest cultural district in Chengdu's city centre. The hotel is part of the Chengdu Sun Palace Project to develop a site of over 100,000 square metres into a large urban complex comprising a luxury hotel, high-end residences, offices and commercial buildings.
PARKROYAL Chengdu will offer 360 guestrooms and a range of amenities that includes an all-day dining restaurant, speciality restaurant, poolside bar and restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, ballroom and meeting spaces.
Meanwhile, the signing of a management agreement with Zhuhai Weilins New Materials Development Co. Ltd paves the way for the 2017 opening of Pan Pacific Zhuhai, the sixth "Pan Pacific" property in China.
One of China's premier tourist destinations, located on the southern coast of Guangdong province and bordering Macau, Zhuhai is famed for being a garden city with its attractive environment and surrounding landscapes. Pan Pacific Zhuhai will open its doors next to the bustling Gongbei Business Circle and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge, which is currently under construction. Separated from Macau by the scenic waterway of Qianshan, it will also offer a spectacular view of the Macau city. The 300-room hotel will feature conference facilities, a Chinese restaurant, all-day dining restaurant, executive lounge, lobby bar and lounge, a swimming pool and gym.
In China, Pan Pacific Hotels Group currently owns and/or manages four "Pan Pacific" hotels and serviced suites in Ningbo, Xiamen and Suzhou. This August, it will add the 319-room Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Tianjin to its portfolio.
Located along the iconic Hai River and part of a mixed-use development which also comprises residential apartments, a retail mall and office tower, Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Tianjin offers an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, lobby lounge, business centre, indoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art health club and spa, along with a selection of meeting and function spaces.
Outside of China, Pan Pacific Hotels Group also recently announced the signings of two management agreements for PARKROYAL hotels in Australia and Myanmar.
In total, the Group now owns and/or manages 38 "Pan Pacific" and PARKROYAL hotels, resorts and serviced suites with close to 12,000 rooms across Asia, Oceania and North America, including those under development.
SilverNeedle Hospitality adds Country Comfort Ballarat to expand footprint in Victoria, Australia
SilverNeedle Hospitality has added Country Comfort Ballarat to its network, strengthening its footprint in the Australian state of Victoria.
Located in Ballarat, a major gold mining town in the 19th century, Country Comfort Ballarat will add 25 keys when it joins the SilverNeedle Hospitality network on 1 March as a brand licensed property. Country Comfort Ballarat will also be the eighth hotel in the group's network in Victoria.
The hotel comprises two function rooms and a fully-licensed restaurant and bar. Its Barklys restaurant was nominated in 2011 for a Golden Plate Award, which recognises good restaurants in regional Victoria. All hotel rooms offer free Wi-Fi.
