ALHI adds Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club to portfolio
The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, which recently completed more than $45 million in renovations and enhancements, has been accepted into the portfolio of Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI). In addition to becoming the newest Member of ALHI's worldwide portfolio of AAA Four- and Five-Diamond quality hotels and resorts that specialize in serving the meetings and incentive marketplace, the AAA Four-Diamond Southwest Florida resort becomes the newest addition to the "ALHI Beach & Island Collection" specialty segment since it is directly on the Naples' Florida beach. It also becomes the newest offering in the "ALHI Golf Collection" with 18 holes of championship golf on-site, and the "ALHI Historic Collection," as it has been a landmark resort in Naples for more than 50 years. The ALHI Global Sales Organization (GSO) sales force throughout North America now provides authorized and dedicated GSO services and sales support to companies and organizations interested in conducting meetings, conventions, and/or incentive/recognition programs at the 125-acre resort.
The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club joins as ALHI's only member in Southwest Florida, and its fourth property on Florida's west coast.
The Mulia - Nusa Dua, Bali joins the Leading Hotels of the World
Mulia - Nusa Dua, Bali has been selected for membership into The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd., making it Nusa Dua's first hotel to boast membership in this elite organization.
The one-year old hotel offers an all-suite property located on the prime beachfront of the Nusa Dua coastline with views of the Indian Ocean. Each of the 111 suites are designed with a taste of luxury. Every suite is complete with a Jacuzzi on the patio.
IHG announces sale of InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco for $120 Million
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the sale of the 383-room InterContinental San Francisco Mark Hopkins to a joint venture between affiliates of Woodridge Capital Partners and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management L.P. for $120m gross cash proceeds. IHG will continue to manage the Hotel under a long-term management contract.
The Hotel first opened in 1926, and became an InterContinental in 1973. IHG acquired the lessee interest in 1983 and subsequently acquired the freehold in 2010. The new owners have agreed to invest approximately $20m to refurbish and reposition the hotel.
The sale is a continuation of IHG's strategy to reduce the capital intensity of the business. Over the last 12 months IHG has agreed to dispose of three owned InterContinental hotels, with total gross proceeds of almost $830m. The disposal of InterContinental London Park Lane completed in May 2013 and the disposal of an 80% interest in InterContinental New York Barclay was announced in December 2013; this is expected to complete next month.
Cachet Hotel Group takes full ownership of JIA in Shanghai, China
Cachet Hotel Group (CHG), announced the completion of the acquisition of JIA Shanghai by CHG's co-founder Robert Roche. The transaction was announced as an all cash buyout for an undisclosed sum.
In a recent statement, CHG's CEO, Alexander Mirza, indicated, "JIA Shanghai is a well-known luxury property located in the heart of Shanghai. Over the coming months, CHG will transform JIA into a Cachet Boutique property that will be known for entertainment, fashion and culinary excellence.
Under CHG, the JIA Shanghai acquisition helps carry out long term strategic development objectives of the Cachet brand. JIA Shanghai will be managed by CHG and undergo renovations to the guest rooms as well as the transformation of the third floor into a destination ultra-lounge. These renovations will be under the direction of CHG's exclusive celebrity design partner, Jay Godfrey. The renovations will be completed summer 2014 when the hotel will reopen under the name Cachet Boutique.
Spanish OTA joins SiteMinder's Room Distribution Exchange
SiteMinder has announced a new partnership with one of Spain's top online travel agencies, Jumbo Tours Spain. The company was looking for a solution that would establish a connection to global Property Management Systems (PMS) and Central Reservation Systems (CRS) and SiteMinder's Room Distribution Exchange (RDX) platform was a good fit.
Jumbo Tours Group, headquartered in Majorca, Spain with 27 offices worldwide, offers its services and products to tour operators and travel agencies globally. The partnership enables Jumbo Tours to access dynamic room availability and rate supply directly from thousands of hotels that are clients of SiteMinder's Room Distribution Exchange switch platform. The platform connects the CRS and PMS systems directly to hundreds of booking channels.
"Our integration with SiteMinder helps our hotel partners update rates and inventory in our sales channels in real-time, enabling us to bring the best offers to our customers. We expect an estimated growth by over 20% as a result of this connectivity," said Javier Soriano, Head of Preferential Partners at Jumbo Tours Group.
