The official opening of the Four Seasons in Hong Kong comes as nearly all of the Central hotel's 345 rooms and 54 suites are operational. Occupancies are running at 90 per cent, the hotel says, with guests divided between business and leisure. When it comes to rates, the corporate tariff is HK$ 2,900, (US$372) the same as the boutique Landmark Mandarin Oriental's rate on its website. The London hotel industry saw a marked recovery during September, following a severe downturn in business in the aftermath of the June terrorist attacks, according to figures released today by PKF hotel consultancy services. PKF’s report for September shows that year on year occupancy in London was down a modest 3.7% to 79.6%, but average room rate was up 4.2% to £110.99, helping to keep rooms yield steady at £88.39, a 0.3% rise on the same month last year.

Many others were reported to have been injured in the blasts at Kuta beach - the area most popular with Western tourists - and at Jimbaran beach.
