How Quantum Science Can Transform the Hotel IndustryMar 01, 11 | 12:05 am
The hotel industry will go around in circles unless it embraces quantum science's discoveries about energy. This article explains some of the ways in which quantum science opens new possibilities to the hotel industry, which will enable it to create new levels and kinds of guest experience that the current, western-influenced norm cannot possibly create. I have had great reservations about writing this article as I wonder if there any corporate offices interested in exploring how they use energy to transform their guest experience. Their SOP-Customer Satisfaction guest experience is actually based in the obsolete mechanical physics of Sir Isaac Newton. Even the most traditional corporate offices will surely not deny that there is a growing realization that the guest experience that hotels serve up feels mechanical and lacks emotional value. To be able to create the higher emotional levels of Spiritual Hospitality, hoteliers and especially corporate offices have to understand a little about quantum science and know how to apply it. The article is not meant to be a science lesson, but unless hoteliers try to understand some of the fundamentals, in 30 years time hotels will still be focusing on the desperately dull SOP-Customer Satisfaction experience; and corporate vision statements will still be as pitiful as, "We meet and exceed the expectations of our customers, owners and shareholders. We have a passion for excellence ...". (Excuse me while I scream ... Thank you!) Playing around with beds, room amenities, furniture design, and other material aspects of a guest's stay will not enable hoteliers to create the higher emotional levels of guest experience. It is so sad to see corporate offices either stuck in the mire of tradition, resisting change, or refusing to open their eyes and minds to new ideas. In particular, the hotel industry would benefit so much by understanding that:
1. Energy and Matter Are One and the Same.This is very important for hoteliers to understand. Everything is made of vibrating energy. Human beings are vibrating energy. We are not solid. The universe is not solid. There is nothing solid about matter either. Matter is composed of vibrating energy and is mostly space. It is completely unsubstantial. Our thoughts are energy and impact the world around us positively or negatively according to the vibration of the thought. (A loving or compassionate thought has a higher vibration than a hateful thought, for example.) This has been proven beyond doubt, and is invaluable knowledge for the hotel industry because staff can be taught how to change their own vibration and thereby change the spirit and energy of the hotel. By touching the hearts of hotel staff and stirring up their emotions with moving songs and stories; short meditations, such as sending love energy meditations; creative visualization techniques; a continuous deepening programme that focuses on the core spiritual values of hospitality; and by means of combinations of these, amongst other ways, the hearts of the staff can be softened so that they feel a strong desire to focus on thoughts about loving kindness, heart-warming care, compassion, and empathy. Their energy changes. The behave differently. Even their DNA changes. This approach causes their heart energy and body's vibration to change positively in a way that can be measured and felt, and their inner beauty becomes more visible as a result. As the energy of more and more staff changes, the stronger is the effect of the resulting vibration on the guests, the guest experience, and the hotel's environment. It is not a coincidence that hotels, which focus on the emotionally flat SOP-Customer Satisfaction experience, have an emotionally flat feeling about them. The energy has a lower vibration (you can feel the difference), and this lower vibration is visible in the body language of the staff, especially in the eyes, which reflect the heart and its energy (field). 2. There is a Matrix That Connects Everything and EveryoneThe Matrix (or Field, as it is also called) is an intelligent field of energy, which western science has proved exists and which it is just coming to understand. The most ancient traditions began with this understanding and spent 3,000 years devising ways to apply it to peoples' lives. The Matrix connects us all. It mirrors back to us our beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and this is very relevant to hoteliers. Up until the late 20th century, mankind operated with the belief that everything is separate from everything else. Now we know as a scientific fact that the Matrix exists. Think of it like a spider's web with yourself or your hotel as being on one of the strands. This Matrix is the conduit that carries our thoughts, feelings, and emotions out from our physical bodies into the world around us. They impact the "stuff" in this Matrix and make it conform to what we have in our hearts. We are always interacting with it, and we create through the energy and vibration of human emotion. ... Yes, science has moved on a lot since our school days, hasn't it? This is why corporate offices should wake up and smell the new flowers. Since Einstein's discovery that everything is made of energy, science has been proving what the ancient traditions and religions have been saying all along about the creative and attractive power of the energy in our thoughts and emotions. With this understanding alone, the hotel industry can soar to unimagined levels. But where is there a corporate office with a listening ear not deafened by the drums of tradition and by the relentless mind-numbing chants of "SOP-Customer Satisfaction Rules!" in their corridors of power? Greatness is waiting around the corner, but they have settled for the sloth of mediocrity, mainly, I suspect, because they have yet to learn about energy. The Matrix is very relevant to the hotel industry because your hotel is a miniature part of it. It reflects back the vibration created by the beliefs, thoughts, and feelings of your management and staff. In the pervasive, traditional SOP-Customer Satisfaction experience the focus is on standards, duties, and efficiency, and not on the spirit of love and genuine hospitality. The Field of the hotel reflects this energy. Walk around your hotel and ask yourself if you feel a high vibration (i.e. a warm feel). To change the vibration of the hotel you have to work on the beliefs, thoughts, and feelings of your staff, and to do this, you have to work through the heart by creating positive, high vibrating emotions associated with love. It is easy to do, but you cannot use traditional western hotel group ways to do it as they focus on the left side of the brain. This is why copying the methods of the western hotel groups will never create for you a guest experience, which is strong in loving kindness, compassion, heart-warming care, and which has a high emotional value. In the future the hotel industry will create the guest experience through the heart because the heart produces the energy which influences the Field. The hotel is a part of the Field and this limited area of the Field can be influenced positively by changing the energy created by the staff's thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and emotions. Can you now start to see the relevance of quantum science? ... This is just a fraction of the relevance. 3. The Language of the Matrix is Human Emotion, Feeling and Belief.Our beliefs shape and re-arrange the world we live in. Belief, with the emotion it engenders, is the language of the universe. Literally, when we change the way we feel, we change and rearrange the stuff and atoms of the world around us. Even the shape of our DNA changes according to our emotions (eg. love, compassion, hate, rage, etc.), and discovering this has opened up new ways to cure illnesses, which traditional methods cannot cure. Indeed, such is the energy of thoughts, beliefs, and emotion, it is easy to increase the growth of plants and crops, and change the structure of water by means of one's thoughts so that it is healthier to drink. The possibilities for hotels are enormous. Religions and ancient traditions have said for millennia that our personal reality is created by what we focus our feelings and emotions on, and science is now verifying this. We create in our hearts and our imaginations the experiences we would like to have, and the mirror of the Matrix reflects this back to us. Human feeling and human belief are the language of reality creation. If you want to create a guest experience with a high emotional value, then increase the vibration of your management and staff using the methods above and you will transform your hotel. Simply focusing on SOPs and efficiency creates an experience with a much lower vibration. Worse still, it prevents your staff being the people they truly are by nature. It is no wonder that hotels are always wondering how to motivate their staff. 4. The Body Creates a Powerful Electromagnetic Energy Field.The creative power of human emotions to rearrange atoms was in the descriptions of the books taken out of western traditions, although it was never taken out of other traditions, such as Native American and those in Peru and in the Andes. Modern science is showing that when we have strong feelings, not only are there changes inside our body, but there are also changes outside our bodies. The world around us is primarily electrical and magnetic. Hotels can use this to their advantage by reducing the almost total focus on the left side of the brain caused by the over-emphasis on SOP training, and by spending more time developing their staff's capacity to reflect loving kindness, compassion, heart-warming care in their service. It is very easy to do. In our bodies, the largest generator of electrical and magnetic energy is the human heart. It has about 100 times the power of the brain to create an electrical field and over 5,000 times the power of the brain to create a magnetic field. The language of the heart is where the power is packed to change the hotel guest experience. Sales & Marketing departments will one day discover that they can use this knowledge to increase sales. They will discover how useful it is in attracting and increasing income. I used to be skeptical, like you, no doubt, but then I proved it was true. Teach your staff how to visualize themselves (using all 5 senses) creating a guest experience that has a high emotional value, and give them a spiritual quotation as the standard for the spirit of emotion and loving kindness. Quotations rich in natural imagery work best. They should see themselves doing it; feel the happiness of having already achieved, done, or created what they want to do; and feel intense gratitude. The Field recognizes the language of emotion, gratitude, and appreciation. The more intense the feelings and the energy, and the more often you do this, the bigger the effect on the guest experience and on the energy field of the hotel. The heart's electromagnetic field not only envelops every cell of the body, but also extends out in all directions into the space around us. The cardiac field can be measured several feet away from the body, and research conducted shows that the heart's field is an important carrier of information. The hotel industry will recognize this one day once it has ceased its infatuation with western traditional approaches to hospitality. 5. Heart-based LivingIn the past few years western science has made a revolutionary discovery that changes everything about the way we think of ourselves and the world, and which hoteliers can benefit from. What they found is that when we create heart-based feelings of loving kindness, heart-warming care, compassion, gratitude, and appreciation, for example, we are actually generating a magnetic field inside our body that is part of the magnetic field of the Earth, and which undergoes the change. 6. Conclusion.The electromagnetic signals generated by the heart have the capacity to affect others around us and to create higher, more emotional levels of guest experience. One person's heart signal can affect another's brainwaves. Historically, we have been taught that we are passive observers in the universe, having little effect during our life. Science is showing that those beliefs are wrong. Through the Matrix that joins all things, scientists have shown that the "stuff" that the universe is made of - waves and particles of energy - responds and conforms to our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and emotions that we create in our lives. Hotels can apply this knowledge very easily to change the nature and feel of their guest experience. Then we will see at last the death of lamentable corporate vision statements, such as, "We meet and exceed the expectations of our customers, owners and shareholders. We have a passion for excellence ..." (the hotel group in question should feel ashamed), and the pervasive, obsolete SOP-Customer Satisfaction experience can finally be laid to rest in peace in a quiet corner of the Museum of Hospitality.
