Jan 24, 05 | 4:30 pm
Expedia's WWTE program, its merchant hotel private label, has signed Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as its first hotel partner in the Asia Pacific market.
Users of www.Shangri-la.com will be able to find flights, car rentals and vacation packages. Michael Leong, director of corporate e-business for Shangri-La, said, "This expansion of our online services complements Shangri-La's continued growth strategy with new properties throughout mainland China, Canada and other countries."
With headquarters in Hong Kong, Shangri-La manages 45 properties under the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Traders Hotels brands in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
"Shangri-La prides itself on providing the finest in Asian hospitality and service," said Michael Leong, director of corporate e-business of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. "With WWTE powering packages and other offerings on www.shangri-la.com, we've made it easy for our customers to find and book a full range of customized travel options and create the perfect luxury trip. "
The WWTE private-label service enables Expedia's supplier partners to increase customer loyalty and provide value through the flexibility of dynamic packaging. With this agreement, Shangri-La customers can now choose from travel services available through Expedia, such as flights, car rentals, destination activities, and packages including a stay at a Shangri-La property - all in one convenient location online.
"We're delighted that Shangri-La has selected WWTE to power its dynamic packaging offering, bringing the power of Expedia?s technology to the Shangri-La Web site," said Barney Harford, president, Expedia Asia Pacific. "Now customers can tailor their own vacations online at Shangri-La.com, choosing not only their hotel but also their flights, car rentals, and a range of exciting destination activities - from a romantic sunset helicopter flight over Australia's Sydney Harbour to a demonstration of how to slice Peking Duck and an acrobatic performance in Beijing."
