Patrick Ghielmetti promoted to Regional VP and General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts are pleased to announce the promotion of Patrick Ghielmetti to Regional Vice President in charge of Four Seasons Hotels Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the soon to open Tented Camp in the Golden Triangle. Mr Ghielmetti will continue to oversee Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok as General Manager. His prior assignment was at the helm of the spectacular Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai making him uniquely qualified to assume this regional level.
Mr. Ghielmetti’s 17-year career in the hospitality industry has taken him to previous postings in Hua Hin, the U.S., Europe and Middle East. He received his professional education in Switzerland, his birthplace, and graduated from Ecole Hotelière Lausanne in 1986. Although Mr. Ghielmetti is now a US citizen, he was born in Bern, Switzerland.
Ghielmetti joined Four Seasons in 1995, as Rooms Division Manager at The Ritz-Carlton in Chicago, a Four Seasons Hotel. Since then he has assisted with the openings of high-profile Four Seasons properties, including Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. He has also worked at The Pierre in New York before going to Egypt, where he spent three years opening and managing Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh.

Rudolf van Dijk appointed Hotel Manager
Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok is pleased to announce the appointment of Rudolf van Dijk to Hotel Manager effective October 19, 2005.
A native of The Netherlands, Mr. van Dijk brings over 19 years of extensive international hotel experience to this position, which is his second posting in Asia. He joins Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok from its sister property, Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai, where he held the same rank for more than two years.
Prior to his first appointment in Asia, Mr. van Dijk was the Director of Food and Beverage at Four Seasons Hotel New York. Before joining Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, he held the position of Director of Food and Beverage at Sandy Lane Hotel and Golf Club in Barbados. Mr. van Dijk has also worked at various one and two star Michelin restaurants throughout The Netherlands in various capacities.
Mr. van Dijk holds a bachelor degree in hotel management from The Hague Hotel School in The Netherlands and is a graduate of Cornell University’s Executive Development Program in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management in the USA.
As the hotel manager, Mr. van Dijk will oversee the hotel’s daily operation, including rooms division, engineering and food and beverage and will report directly to the General Manager, Mr. Patrick Ghielmetti. He is joined by his wife, Mechteld and daughter, Emma (6) and twin boys, Luke and Tom (2 months).
