In the wake of the Turkish ban of Booking.com, the commission-free accommodation booking platform, Bidroom, expresses its stance against unfair practices in the hospitality industry. Bidroom.com was, is and will always continue to bring fairness to the Online Travel Agency market, while firmly opposing the concepts of rate parity and brand hijacking.
The ban of Booking.com in Turkey in regards to the company’s unfair competition practices is indicating the move in the right direction for the hospitality industry. Currently, not only are the hoteliers forced to keep their room rates high, because of Rate Parity Agreements, but also the Dutch giant is charging them outrageously high commission on bookings, and hijacking their brands in search engines.
It’s about time, Booking’s bullying in the hospitality industry came to an end, and Bidroom.com has already been working on making it happen. The company with headquarters in Poland is known for its pro-hotelier approach, that features 0 per cent commission on all bookings, no brand-hijacking and promoting hotels through Bidroom’s channels of communication.
Being fed up with Booking.com, no wonder that Turkish hoteliers have been choosing to sign up with the fairer platform over the past few weeks, as Bidroom has gained a lot of traction in the local market. The invitation to take part in the upcoming Uzakrota Travel Summit for the start-up’s CEO, Michael Ros, only validates the fact that Turkish hoteliers are leaning towards the revolution brought by Bidroom.com.
Hopefully, in the coming few years, Turkey and all other markets can become fair and transparent. The team of Bidroom.com certainly believes that the recent ban foreshadows the incoming revolution.
