Burlington Hotels Group Inc., a Burlington, Ontario-based company, has announced the ground breaking of the new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, located at 1110 Burloak Drive. Conveniently connected to the 25,000 sq. ft. Burlington Convention Centre with an outdoor link, this new hotel will offer 135 guestrooms and suites with a Bistro Plus Restaurant & Bar, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and beverage services including Starbucks Coffee.
The $22M six-storey hotel will have fully equipped fitness room, indoor swimming pool, exterior courtyard, business centre, 1,800 sq. ft. of meeting and banquet space, and an Energy Efficiency Program including in-house recycling. The hotel will be opening in Spring 2018.
Frank Vismeg, Managing Director for Burlington Hotels Group and Burloak Hospitality Management Ltd., who is overseeing the hotel operations, has extensive international experience with Hilton Hotels, Sheraton and InterContinental Hotels Group, and a strong network of relationships with government, industry and service organizations.

The construction of the hotel will be undertaken by TriAxis Construction Limited, a well-respected construction management firm with over 25 years of experience and expertise in the industry.

Mr Vismeg is an active member of several professional associations including the International Hotel & Restaurant Association, CSAE, SKAL International and ORHMA. He has served on numerous associations in Burlington and Oakville, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary, and the Canadian Club of Halton Peel. Mr Vismeg has received recognition for his contributions to the community from Canada’s prime ministers, Ontario’s premiers, ministers of tourism and the Mayor of Oakville. Has been selected as Hotelier of the Year 2004 and has received several awards including Award of Business Excellence 2003 for Holiday Inn Select Hotel & Suites and Oakville Conference Centre, and for Sheraton Hamilton Hotel in 2011.
